For those looking for a cheaper alternative to 162's...

www.tiretrends.com (a canadian tirerack so to speak) has a 5 series replica with the right offset to fit our cars. it almost looks like a 162 but not quite....they are $229 per wheel (canadian dollars) for 18 x 8 wheel. i ordered a set for my winter setup (18")

here is the link:

http://www.tiretrends.com/wheel_cata...p3?wheelID=598

and a pic:

shipping is very reasonable (especially for canadians), and for those in ontario, you only have to pay GST

Those are good looking with reasonable price. If they offer 18x8.5 would be even better.

Replica wheels wont give you the sturdyness of OEM wheels.

In most parts of Canada it is not worth the cost to get OEM wheels for winter...some have even gone the route of steel wheels because of the sand, salt and ice.

162 replica

First post = hello all

My 325 is now in production so I can now start ordering my goodies

Did you get these wheels yet?

I found what i think is an indentical set in US - from victoriatire - they are just what I want for my winter set (coupled with Dunlop M3)but I have no idea of the quality of these wheels

IMO, non OEM rims are MORE sturdy than oem aluminum alloy rims. Aftermarket copies are usually heavier AND made of steel.

Personally I would try to pry a set off of a 330i owner that isn't happy with the 162's for the same $$$.

Yea... but at $230 Canadian, the replicas are nearly disposable...

That's what, $3 US? Buy 2 sets!

The 17" version from Victoria Tire does not fit the 330i. They rub on the brake caliper. I am in the process of returning the set I bought from them. If you end up going with a set of these wheels buy the 18" version from Tiretrends. Do not buy from Victoria Tire. Their customer service or whatever you want to call it sucks. I am still trying to return these wheels that "they guarenteed" would fit my 330i. Finally had to call Visa and let them handle it.
