Cool Carbon Pad post install issues
Hey Guys,
In February I had my ECS cross drilled rotors installed on the front along with a new set of Cool Carbon brake pads. A buddy of mine did it in his garage, seemed like an easy thing to do. Anyway, after the install I followed the break-in procedure to the T. After a week or 2 car moans loud from a 70-20 mph stop, why? Also, I'm getting the clunking noise but I notice it more when the car is cold, but goes away. This past week I had the rear rotors done, same setup. ECS rear cross drilled rotors with cool carbon pads. On this install I had a local mechanic from the forums do the job. He also installed SS lines and flushed out the system. Prior to him doing the rear brake job the cars brake pedal felt mushy. After the rears brakes were done the pedal feel stayed the same and the moaning from high speed to an abrupt stop is loud. Where do I go from here? |

That sound is normal with Drilled rotors. Some do it more than others and heat will play a huge role. The harder you brake, the more heat you create and the louder your brakes will be.
