Out of control BMW Assist...

I was out of town this week and as soon as I opened my car tonight at the airport parking lot, the car placed and emergency call to BMW Assist. It continued to do this all the way home. I stopped by a friends house on my way home and as soon as I unlocked the car at his house it started to place the "emergency" calls.

I talked to the same operator several times and it became kind of a joke, but it is pretty annoying and I will be out of town for the next 5 weeks only coming back on the weekends.

Anyone experience something like this? Any ideas of where to start? I will make an appointment, but like I said, I will be out of town for a while only being able to drive the car on weekends...

Thanks!

It has not been touched.

I have a feeling that this one is going to be a hard one to fix... Can see the "could not duplicate" writeup on the dealer repair form.

Wish me luck!

I don't think they can say CND. BMW assist should have a record of all the crazy calls. BMW themselves have the proof!

while you were gone, did it rain alot ???

I wonder if you have a water leak thru the sunroof and the switch got wet...also you may want to look in the trunk under the cover and see if you have any water in there..

If you take the whole cover out there is a silver box on the passanger side towards the back of the rear seat.. that is you TCU... telephone control unit... see if it is wet...

you can disconnect it if you want, but you will loose bluetooth and ofcourse bmw assist..
