Yeah! It is cool. Try getting just the shift arm and bushings if you can. The knob is fine if you have the stock one and wanted to replace it. I sold my shift knob because I already had the M Sport one. Love the feel of the shifter!

Yes.
Just changed my gearbox oil (old stuff was black after 20,000km), and the short shift is now awesome - once the box is hot. A bit baulky into 1st & 2nd when cold but this has nothing to do with the SSK. Love my knob with a hot box.

DAMNIT HOW DID I MISS THIS THREAD.
These shenanigans all started from when I took pictures of my slanted knob. Your performance knob is surely the best feature of you.....r car

The BMW Performance SSK is a MUST HAVE mod! It shortens the throws from 80mm to 55mm. That doesn't sound like a lot but its a hige difference in shifting feel/throws. The car should have come this way! Its really sweet.
You can save a little bit of money by ordering the Perf SSK parts separately. I paid just under 200 euros for mine. I did not need nor want the SSK's alcantera shifter bag or stubby knob. My dealer only charged me one hours labor for the install. The SSK is only for N54 cars btw. Dackel |

It's offered on N52 cars for sure. The stock 125i throw is even longer than the M-sport 135i one, so this mod is even more worthwhile.

Anyone bought just the shift arm (i.e. without the performance knob and alcantara boot) for an N52? If so, where + how much?

What evolution42 said.
I use to have one on my R32 (skyline). It made the box feel alot tighter (im talking gear boxes here).

Yes but you need to talk about experience with this specific SSK on this specific car. Every car and kit is different. I got a B&M super SSK on my 996 TT and it was CRAP! I had to have it removed. Couldn't select 2-3 shift to save my life.

My experience with this specific SSK so far is that it is too pricey in Australia so I am currently going without. Anyone seen a good price elsewhere? Like evolution42, I dont need/want the knob or boot
