Throttle Canyon? (Logs)

Had the opportunity to take the car south of the border, got serious bogging at low RPM when WOT. I think I had the AC on for a couple runs, but 1 of them I had it off and it did the same thing. See anything weird? This is just under E30.

4th gear

3rd

3rd

Thanks guys.

After further in-depth observation from the logs, it appears my AFR is running real rich after full pedal input (in the 11's) at low RPM.

I don't have a BEF, would menu settings 4/2 or 4/3 have an effect on this?

If you're running a JB4, you're better off posting these over at N54tech.com I think...

bogging at low RPM with more throttle then required is likely coil packs. could also be injectors.

never apply more throttle then what the RPM's require. you should be slowly tipping into the throttle as the revs rise and only floor it at around 5000rpm.

WOT at low RPM is especially bad for turbo engines, but not good for any engine not to mention a complete waste of gas.

you probably wont even get any bogging if you keep throttle input proportional to RPM's. I have this same issue myself.

So you don't put the pedal to the floor around 2k rpm when doing WOT datalogs?

The throttle canyon I was referring to is the throttle paramater in the log, not the pedal position.

unless every time you wish to do full throttle pulls are to record WOT dialogs then no.. you dont put the pedal to the floor at low rpm. not every driving situation is a WOT dialog, and you likely wont get any sort of bucking if you dont give more throttle then needed

So that begs the question, where is the sweet spot? Do you have a datalog I can look at?
How does the pedal input of menu 11 affect this equation?

apologies - I do not have any datalogs. I am not sure if you have to keep the pedal floored the whole time when using these WOT datalogs, so I will not comment on that. I am talking about simple real world acceleration. lets say you are in 3rd or 4th gear at 2000RPM. you just have to slowly tip in as revs rise.

EG. full throttle at 3500RPM will not make you go any faster then half throttle at the same RPM. the bucking you are experiencing is the cars way of saying whatever you are doing is not good.
