The only thing I wonder about is if the M3 parts up front will make it even more difficult to get the struts out from under the fender. I'm at -1.75deg. Hope I can pick up another 3/4 of a deg. The M3 parts only gave me -.25 additional. Any new updates, Eddy? |

More pics for you guys. As expected the front and rear wheels mounted up without issue. We've finally had some nice weather here in Socal and did some quick outside shots of the car. The mesh pattern on these wheels look GREAT on the 135i!
Tons of room in the rear. Pictured is a 275/35/18 tire and there is PLENTY of room back there. I think a 285/35/18 will fit with ease but we will have to see! |

Once this is known, for sure, I'd *HIGHLY* consider selling my Breytons.

no comment on tires like hoosiers, but I'm 95% certain a 285 street tire will fit since that 275 NT-01 in the photos above was ever so slightly wider then the 285 NT-05. But there may be a difference in how an r-compound sidewall ballons vs a street tire. so we'll see.

I'm just posting my prediction BERK is doing this testing shortly. They've been wanting to test that size ever since the beginning of this project.

Front clearance to the spring perch is very close, hence the need for a 5mm spacer. If you are on the stock strut then you will be okay since the spring perch is above the tire on a stock style strut. In the rear we have plenty of room. |

ETA UPDATE
I just received a major update regarding the delivery date of the wheels. As posted previously, we were off schedule earlier due to 3 rounds of strength testing and modifications needed to get the wheels as light as possible without sacrificing strength or load rating. When the GroupBuy was originally created we posted an expected arrival date of two months from the close date of October 31st. This date was posted before those strength testing delays occurred. The concave non 1 series wheels ended up only requiring 2 rounds of testing to pass. Because of this they were put into production while the other wheels continued testing. This has caused a stagger in the timing of completion. All the wheels were scheduled to arrive together in one container. Finding out that the concave wheels will be done slightly earlier, I've requested they be shipped in a seperate container to get here ASAP. I want to limit the wait time for as many people as possible. This is costly, but we're doing everything we can to minimize delays. Scheduled arrival times: Concave wheels are scheduled to arrive early to mid January (9th-16th) Flatter faced wheels (including 1 series wheels) are scheduled to arrive 1-2 weeks later. In the next few days, wheels will be on the water, and then arriving in our warehouse for immediate distribution. Everyone will receive UPS tracking numbers. I know this means the wheels are approximately 1 month late for the members of this specific forum. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused any one. I had the option to beef the wheel up with more metal then needed to guarantee that it passes the strength tests on the first try, but this would have resulted in 1+ pounds of extra weight per wheel. I would not have been satisfied with this project if I knew that everyone was driving on wheels that were not perfect. I also know that a few members signed on for this project even before their was a groupbuy. This project exists because of you, and everyone should be grateful to you guys for stepping up and making this possible. Please PM if you have any specific questions -Eddy Last edited by Eddy@ApexWheels; 12-11-2009 at 03:53 PM.. Reason: spelling |

Oh darn, I thought I might have some big boxes under the tree. Not to worry just gives me more time to get some proper rubber for them.

That's not a problem at all Eddy. We're still well in time for race season!
I would rather wait an additional month for a better wheel than have an "imperfect" wheel in my hands now. |

Stock wheel/strut/spring testing:
As we suspected, TONS of room between the strut & wheel/tire. I can fit my hand back there! APEX 18x8.5 +38 w/ 255/35/18 Toyo R1R tire. |

Fantastic! Thanks for doing this testing Brian. Judging by that photo, wider brands/models should fit well since it's the outer most section that increases the most from brand to brand.
