Spy photos of the M1 / 1M in Sedona Red with completed front body work
To date, we've only seen two test mules so far. The earliest one was the sedona red with chopped fenders to accomidate a wider track and wider wheel/tire combinations. From the exterior, the car was simply a standard 135i with the aformentioned chopped fenders. The second car to arrive on the scene is the now famous black M1/1M we have seen on the nurburgring which appears to have the final body work (under heavy masking of course).
Its time of course to throw a third car into the pile BMW have thrown this new test car onto the ring that appears to sport identical bodywork as the black car (what we assume is the completed design of the car) but now in sedona red. The sedona adds alot of visual contrast to the black and white pyschadelic camoflague and helps us "see" the underlying body work better IMO. As Southlight points out, this could very well be the same sedona red test car, now refit with the final production fenders. As Alpine mentions, the rear fender looks to still be the faux bolted on fender. It would seem too difficult to change out the rear panels completly. As always, you can track the complete M1 storyline here: http://www.bimmerpost.com/m1/ Enjoy! |

The fender flares are nice, but I'd like to see a more "wide body" look, and really WIDE tires. Maybe once the camo is off it'll look more "aggressive". |

Mirrors are different between red and black car. 2009 mirros are the small ones, 2010s are the new big ones like in 3series.. himm.

thats not even the real rear quater panel flare. thats the one they added on with rivets from previous photos we've seen. This is what you're seeing with added front bumper and front fenders.
Look at this photo carefully you can see the line of the fake fender flare like you see on the red car.

Most likely will be an M... theres different body work on this one. Looking at what they did with the 3... they didn't change the bodywork for the "is" and just added more hp.

Personally I would like to see it as a Tii.... it just dawne don me that the Homage "M1" did not sport any M badgework...... interesting... perhaps all along they were looking to seperate the Lambo-bimmer from the M series all together... ~Frost
