A BMW's driving dynamics are best realized with the RWD system. The TL needs the AWD system to best utilize the powerful V6. Plus, the SHAWD is better than the X drive. The only thing the X drive adds is snow traction, as it's doesn't make a RWD BMW a better handling car, like the SHAWD does for an Acura. $42,385 MSRP is about $1000 more than my 135i. I won't flame you. I think the TL SHAWD, especially the manual, is a sweet car. Acura really loads a LOT of quality, technology, and luxury for the money. I almost bought a TL A-Spec manual in 2006, before the AWD was offered. It was a very nice automobile, very comfortable seats, excellent manual trans, nice ride, good handling. But, FWD with that much power lessened the overall sporty dynamics as it would tug on hard launch, and in corners under power it would under steer much more than anything in our RWD 1 series. I got an A4 S-line instead. SHAWD however, changes things for the better, imo. Nice choice, with excellent reliability. |

So got my car back on 5/14, made it up to Oregon with no problems.
The dealer said the west coast regional engineer decided to put an unreleased software update on my car. Been driving it normally with no problems so far, thankfully. The only thing I notice is it's really happy to start priming that fuel pump now. Every time I unlock it or open the door if I've waited 5 minutes after unlocking, it'll start up that fuel pump. |

In that case, the dealer should absolutely replace everything if BMW AG instructed them to do so.

The problem I see here is that on the first two occurrences of the issue, absolutely nothing was done by the dealer except pat you on the back, tut, and send you on your way. If there is a problem of this nature, something caused it, and it needs to be addressed. Right away, unless you fancy being stranded. These kinds of intermittent flaws don't heal themselves, so it's not 'if', but 'when'...

Give it a try and see if BMW takes back the car and go for the 2011 model. Where did you get the car from ? Peterpan, Mt View or SCBMW ?

The boards reflect the product. Boring. Although I understand your frustration I find Asian cars in general to be soulless and boring. I'll put up with the extra pampering my car requires because every time I get behind the wheel, It makes me happy and thrilled to be driving it.
