80% of the 300 1 series cars on dealer lots in the USA are black. We need more Alpine white ones to even the score. Alpine is so awesome thats why so many are ordering it. Dealers don't have a clue. Hundreds of black automatics, the 2 things I don't ever want. IMO.

I believe the vast majority of the 135i demos sent out to dealers for the launch of the 1 series were black with Coral red interior. So that could be why it seems like there are so many black 135is out there.

A local dealer just got a loaded white 128 coupe w/ red leather. i think it may have been a canceled order car. Seems like a custom order with that many options. I may take a look at it tomorrow. $40k is a lot for a 128 but like I said it had almost every option.

When i went to the WELT in Munich, I asked the gift shop where the white 1er scale model cars where (they only had blue black and red). They informed me that they didn't make a white one because white was the "fashion" color for this year. They said that white wasn't a very timeless color and so they didn't have the incentive to produce the model in that color. I brought up the point of the Tii concept and he said "Exactly, the fashion color."

I wanted white, but didn't want to order and wait so I wasn't too picky about the color. If I had the choice again, I'd probably try harder to get white.

I've always had black cars but something about the 135i in AW looks soo damn good especially with the CF bits...
I really don't care if it's the most popular colour because I think it's easily the best colour |

That is a myth. There is nothing that looks more disgusting than a neglected white car. Black looks far better in a neglected state. A few months ago I seen an AW 335 sedan, that probably hadn't had a wash in a year. It was streaked and stained - and looked like a urinal at a 24 hour rest stop.

The first 128i cabrio I drove was white with a black top. I considered other colors but decided I like white the best, on this vehicle. Relatively small low vehicles are harder to see and lighter colors are easier to see. That was a little bit of my logic but mainly I just liked the appearance. I also really liked the silver with moonlight combination in the convertible brochure. But I saw one side by side with a white/black at the Hilton Head dealership and that sealed the deal for me. Another small factor was I saw a lot of silver convertibles around here.
This is my first white vehicle and I don't think it's particularly easy to keep clean. But I've also never owned black. We've had mostly taupe cars which are really easy to keep decent looking and my SUV is a deep red. It's about the same to me as the e88, maybe it looks a little better "dirty". The door sill in particular seems to get dirty looking quickly in my e88. Jim
