Help Please: Pass Door Latch / Window Issue

Hi folks,

Our 2008 128i keeps thinking the passenger door is being opened / closed repeatedly, while it's closed and the ignition is on. The window will drop to release the seal, then pop back up, over and over. The "door ajar" chime comes on over and over (very annoying). Has anyone experienced this?

I think this is an issue in the door latch mechanism, specifically with whatever sensor it uses to know if it's open or closed. I just don't know what the part is. Maybe this diagram will help:
