Tire Rack is good....

.... and it's people like Gill that make it that way.

Details not important but Gill acted as a consummate professional in managing my order for wheels, tires and TPMS from beginning to end.

Thanks!

Indeed it is good..., but what a pity import duties make things considerably expensive when shipped f.i. to Europe.

It would be good too if Tire Rack, with its good rep, would handle some "boutique wheels" too, but probably not enough volume possible to make it worthwhile.

What do you consider a "boutique wheel"? Just curious.

I love living in Chicago and ordering from Tire Rack. I literally get free overnight shipping.

I ordered at 3PM on Tuesday and at 6PM on Wednesday my Star Specs were installed and I was rolling on them..

Same here. I'm in Rochester NY and called Gill yesterday about a need regarding my order that had just arrived. Got home from work today to find UPS had left a box at the front door. WOW.

Too bad for anyone outside of the states because of duties and brokerage fees (UPS).

Still cheaper overall.

Any tires and wheels manufactured in the US are suppose to be duty free.

I live in Canada and have been ordering from TireRack for over 10 years. Even with duties and brokerage, still a great deal especially with the current exchange rate. TireRack has always been 100% reliable. I recently ordered a set of Hankook Ventus V12's from Gill, and could not be happier with my decision.

Yes but you get hit with brokerage, checkout at Tirerack and you'll see it...... Most tires are not made in the states so duty will apply as well.

Just bought the same set at discounttiredirect, you'll save about $100.

In my experience tirerack are still cheaper overall regardless of any additional fees.

Do you work for Tirerack? I am just pointing out to fellow Canadians that there are cheaper alternatives. At least in Ontario, try to find a set of tires from Tirerack that is cheaper than that other site I mentioned "shipped".

They both use UPS as their courier so services is the same.

I just bought the V12's off of TireRack so I want to compare numbers for future reference. I paid 116US for the 225's and 160US for the 245's. I got wheels at the same time and it doesn't look like Discount offers the same wheel, btw. It looks like Discount was $128 and 171 for the same tires. (I assume those are US prices?).

So, I paid the exchange rate, broker fee (came out to $10/tire if I had bought tires only) and shipping was something like $120 if I would have bought the tires only. So, I paid about $160CDN and $205CDN for the rears, all in. What did your price come out as compared to that? Good to know for the next time I need tires.
