So it's decided! Warning...aggressive content inside

So after some good info i think I have decided to get a set of custom CCW LM5's.

Please give me some input on whether or not these sizes are going to be an issue. I WILL be rolling the fenders, but don't want to do any fender work unless it's absolutely needed.

18x9 +38f, 18x10 +40r. Lowered on Broadway static coil overs, and I'll prob run 215/40, 245/35. Any fender work needed with that setup?

I don't want your opinions on function over form!!!! Don't clutter my thread up with your BS opinions on whether you like "flush" or not. If you have something valid to add please by all means make a comment!

Thanks

Not sure if this is the correct way to calculate this since I figured out my setup with trial and error until my tires stopped rubbing.

My setup is 18x8.5 et33(et45-12mm spacer) and 18x9.5 et45(et50-5mm spacer), with -1.2 camber front -1.7 camber rear on 215/40 and 245/35. Lowered on ST Coilovers. No fender work and no rubbing, but I'm pretty much at the limit for rubbing.

Your wheels are half an inch wider. In my opinion you'll need to roll your fenders and add negative camber to the front.

I get the looks thing, but why buy a "ugly" sports car to ruin the handling instead of something that was meant to look good instead of go fast?

Something to consider... when was the last time you saw an Aston Martin with stance wheels/tires? The higher up you go in car value the less and less popular a stance style setup is, while with the lower value cars (honda, acura, nissian, etc.) the stance game gets extremely popular. This should tell you something...

On topic:
Fender work for this set up is a must, get the rear fenders shaved and the front rolled slightly. If your in SoCal, tony does great work and is awesome.

Max out camber to 3 degrees in the rear and as much as you can in the front. If you run 215/245 you should be able to fit them. I was looking at the same set up and I did my research. Those are the best offsets you can run! Good luck and please post pictures after!!

IMO, he won't have to max out camber or cut the fenders for this setup. We will have to roll and do a bit of fender pulling with a 2 degree+ camber setup.

Isn't a 215 on a 9" rim too skinny? I was about to have my stock Bridgestone rfts's put on my d force 9" rims but the small amount of research I did said it was way too skinny of a tire for that wide a rim.

....thanks for the info. I'm going to roll the fronts and rears...see what that does. If need be I'll do a pull in the rear. I'll post pics when I get them fitted, but give me a little time because it will take about 6-8 weeks to get them.

Don't know how accurate this is, but I looked here also during my research.

That's gonna be a tough fit, largely dependent on how much you lower and what brand of tires you use. Up front you'll be very close to the strut, might need a 2 to 5mm spacer, hopefully not. I'd probably use a 225/35 tire instead. I think you'll need at between 2 and 3deg of camber. In the rear for sure you'll need max factory camber which is also 2-3 deg. A pull and at least a little trimming will be probably be needed.

Your wheels will be around 10mm more aggressive than mine. I can make mine fit without rubbing if I go with undersized tires. That extra 10mm will be tough to jam in there. Good luck, post plenty of pics.

^^^yea I thought of doing the 225,255 combo because I don't want it to be too stretched. But if I try and run a 255 in the rear would mean is have to change the offset. I'm either going with the nitto555, or the Toyo T1R's ...I hear they run small.

White, I was talking about running 225/35 fr and 245/35 r. Yep those would be my two tire choices. Basically a 225 in those brands will run as small as most 215 and have a more stretchable profile.

I think the risk of fender and tire damage from slamming into the fender is more of an issue than the stretched tires. Normally I'd say don't do it, but if the rims are worth fighting for, I say go for it, that's why I did it.

And another, sorry my iPad only lets me upload one pic at a time.

Wheels specs are 18x9 et38 and 18x10 et40 in the rear, tires in the front are 215/40/18 and rears are 245/35/18. The front is untouched no modification and the rears are rolled. He is bagged too
