Looks like they have some new sizes.
18x8.5 et45 should be much better front fitment. |

they forgot the e82 in the 9.5 width D;. either the E90 or F30 would fit fine though, but still how do they expect us to use 8 and 8.5's lol at least some recognition please of the legendary 1's in the 9.5's

They still have 18x9.5 et50.
Now you just need to pull the trigger |

Locked these bad boys in. Using a front 12.5mm spacer as I'm wider in front. Also going with 245/35 f 265/35 r setup.
Should be 5 weeks. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=162 |

+50 for the front won't clear, you'll need at least a 10mm spacer.
+40 for the rear is too aggressive for a 9.5 inch wheel, especially if you're planning to run michelin's or equivalent tyres, it'll rub even if you have rolled/pulled/shaved guards - I had serious issues with 255/35/18 michelin on an 8.5 +40 wheel with all necessary work done front and rear. Currently running 9.5 +45 with a very thin 255/35/19 Nitto tyre and it's only just clearing with -2.5 degrees camber. If you want to have wheels with no issues, I wouldn't go lower than 18x8.5 ET40 and 18x9.5 ET50.. Particularly if you plan on using thick tyres and lowering. |

These wheels are beautiful! Will the 5x120 bolt, 18x8.5 et45 fit a stock car/slightly lowered? I'll consider buying a set of these a year or two from now.

Fronts are 45 8.5". Rears are 50 9.5". They will fit fine with no work on stock everything and right tyre sizes.
I'm modified pretty heavily so pushing fronts out another 12.5mm |

An 8.5" wide front wheel with a +45 offset will cause the tire to rub the strut on the inside with pretty much any tire choice without using a 3mm or larger spacer. Mark

Yes and no. Likely it hits the spring perch on a fully OEM setup, not the strut shaft. Also depends on height/width of tyre and flex under load.
A 45 8.5" has been sold in bulk by APEX to many users so plenty of bolt on and forget examples. 235/40 will need a spacer, a 225/40 might get away with it. |

This is an 8.5" +45 Apex wheel with a 235-40-18 on stock suspension:
A 225 will be a little better but I believe depending on the tire, it could easily still rub under canyon carving/autocross/trackday use. On your commute, probably not, but it's definitely still a possibility. I maintain that you need a 3mm spacer for an 8.5" +45 wheel to properly work in all circumstances with a reasonable selection of tires. Doesn't mean it won't work without it, you just need it to be absolutely sure. Mark

Exactly the case with my wheels too. My 19x8.5 et42 fronts had more than 3 but less than 4mm to spare between the strut and my wheel. If the tired sticks out at all it will rub. My current tires are fine, I'm a little concerned what will happen when I try 225 PSSs when these tires wear out. My mods, etc are listed in my signature.

Being fitted tomorrow, will post pictures in my thread
ET45 front on a 245/30 ET50 rear on a 265/45 As I have wide front fenders, I'll be using a 12mm front spacer and some camber. Also have rear guards rolled. UPDATED PICS IN THREAD: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=171 Last edited by PeteA; 01-07-2016 at 05:11 PM.. |

Great look!
I'd buy a set of these for my totally stock car if I could find a proper fit without spacers. The problem is they are just too expensive to guess what might work. Also the company doesn't seem very helpful with provided details.

Why didn't you go with et30 and no spacers seeing as you have wider fenders? I'd always prefer to run no spacers if possible. I ran 18x8.5 et35 on stock fenders. |

Good info!
I've found this thread valuable in one respect. Looking at Pete's vehicle with the Rays Wheels, I can clearly see that 18" is the best size.
I have had a problem considering both 18" & 19", and which would be best for my car. With the current OEM wheels, the car has a hard but acceptable ride. I think the 19" would be problematic, also the 18" Rays look just great! |

Yes 18's fit a treat and look big enough given their open spoke design.
