$975 installed from the factory.

It is divine to listen to.
Wow that seems pretty reasonable compared to buying it and installing it later.

I got it for about the same amount included in the purchase of the car.

To the OP, why didn't you get the xenons?

I like the Carbon Black, it was my first choice (with Oyster interior), but alas, after 6 years with my Black Sapphire 328 I just couldn't deal with black again around here in Boston. And the Oyster would've been a PITA to keep clean too.

So the next rarest was Mineral Gray on my 128i M-Sport. So sweet!

$400 in labor for a muffler sounds reasonable to you?

I wasn't really figuring "labor" since we're talking about "installed from the factory". Is the part only $575?

I see Tischer listing it for $695, down from the "msrp" of $1490.

Agree 100%. First thing I do is remove the dealer's plate frame. There is no way I could put a number on the amount a dealer would need to knock off the purchase price for me to drive around with their tacky dealer badge permanently affixed to the car.

It was either options, like xenons, or the M Sport package. Obviously I went M Sport.

I am also from Boston. Beverly to be more precise how about you?

What do you run for tires in the winter? I'm on the verge of grabbing some Blizzak LM-25's.

I do like the Carbon Black--it is a bit of a difference from Black Sapphire.

A 6mt 128 M-Sport is a fun car to drive everyday, matching one's driving skills with the capabilities of the car.

And, with M-Sport, the anthracite headliner is a keeper. I didn't want the standard gray headliner. It looked too much like my winter-beater Focus, but that's just me.

$611 from a PA dealer, and I've seen them for a bit less before.

I am planning to get blizzaks from Costco when Bridgestone's go on sale. I'm told they will be $100 off 4. Not bad!

Why not get xenons AND M-sport? Xenons are only $950.

Ah right. But see to me, a moonroof, Comfort access, lumbar, power sears and real leather are requirements, so I didn't even blink about the Premium Package. All stuff I wanted.

Exactly! My wife and I are saving for a larger house so we have a fixed car budget. I had to choose between the premium package OR the M Sport package and performance exhaust.

That's a no brainer if you ask me.

For me, it had nothing to do with the cost.

Bingo, I specifically went for no sunroof.

Fortunately I got a year where xenons and leather were solo options.
