In no hury to sell i have had a few offers but not enough to make me want to sell it.
There are not many for sale that’s always good for keeping prices up Look at the M3 CSL i remember when a 2 year old car was 25k with 30,000miles they have shot up in price after we run the 10 year anniversary trip to Germany with the cslregister |

The bottom spoiler is no longer on the car. It has been removed to sell and in all honesty with both sections installed it is probably a touch too low for roads around here with speed humps etc. I removed it to unbolt the lower part and never refitted it.
It was purchased from KnightRacer.com. They are normally a GTR specialist, but do some other stuff as well occasionally. |

Interesting thread to read guys, I am completely new to the 1M and BMW in general. I am looking for another enjoyable car that hopefully will keep it's price. Does anyone have an opinion of this one?:
http://www.motorcityplymouth.co.uk/u...-series-m-1617 I guess it is a bit higher mileage that the ones you guys have mentioned. But by no means high. Does the price look right for that? Cheers, Alex |

Alex, I would not buy a rare, high end and specialist car like the 1M at circa £40k from an independent dealer that also sells cars for less than £3k. Google them and see what reviews say. This is my own opinion only!
There must be a reason why a 1M is not either in the BMW AUC network or for sale privately. Check the car carefully. That aside, car seems under-valued. I'd be asking why? My car is for sale and I am re-advertising at the weekend for £39,999. The car is genuine, unique and with provenance. However, at that price the Performance seats are being removed on Friday and originals put back in. If you can stretch to £40k, happy for you to come and view the car and make up your own mind. At £40k the car is priced to sell. Last edited by PaulMcA; 09-01-2015 at 11:29 AM.. |

Thanks for the response, can you send me a link to yours? I understand what you're saying about not being a specialist. I have been to see the garage. It is a bit random that they have it, but they are also massive petrolheads. I did ask how they came about the car, and they got it in from their usual network source. The thing i can't understand is, it looks really underpriced. It looked IMMACULATE. I looked underneath and it genuinely looked like a brand new showroom car. Their reputation around here is amazing, they do a ridiculous warranty and after sales package with all cars. I definitely trust them, I think maybe they took a punt with this to see if there is any scope to branch out. Are there any signs you would look out for? I guess it is very close to a big service at 30k? I read somewhere that you can look at the info system to see how long certain bits have until need changing? |

Re above thread These are one of the best specialist dealers in UK. They will give good free advice and they get a good flow of 1M's

Work relocation has me Thinking of putting mine up for sale. Pm if curious...
Reg looks familiar, pretty sure that one was for sale at the start of the year when i began looking for 1m, sold before i had a chance to view, might not have been tho.... As most have said, originality, condition and history are most important, much easier to sell on in the future if its original. Check for signs of paint, if no gauge look for irregular reflections in the paint and matte lines around edges. Most dealers have their cars painted to make a car appear immaculate, trouble is the quality of the work is very hit n miss on most accasions. Also be prepared to travel for a proper gem,you will know it when you see it, dont just buy the first reasonable example coz its local, in the long term it will be easier to re-sell. Also try and drive another before you comit to that plymouth one, will give you a better perspective. For example, the first one i drove was mint, we couldnt come to a deal, (too high miles and too dear), glad we didnt coz after driving others i realised how harsh the first one was. Good luck, you will love it if you get one |

Alex,
Link for mine is here http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...-white/4520138 ...and more pics here from my detailer, just click on the pic of my 1M on the front page http://www.cambridgeautogleam.com/gallery.html My thoughts... If the car is THAT immaculate, I'd be concerned. I'd expect stonechips and a few minor marks around the front and check the underneath of the front bumper for scrapes - It's a used car that has done 26k miles and some minor marks from use show originality. Check stickers on inside of door shuts are there. Check when it was last serviced and by whom - then call that dealer and ask about any history they know of. Was the 'M' Service done in the recommended time frames/mileage? Check supplying dealer - same as above. How many owners.. check V5 document and contact previous owner if you can. Not always easy, but at least get their details. See if on Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. I would want to know where they got the car from! Why would they not tell you if nothing to hide and genuine? Tyres all the same brand on all four wheels? Depth and condition? As for Warranty.. It will be worth diddly, no matter what they say. Warranty Direct, etc. All crap. Only warranty worth anything on these cars is a BMW one. I and many would not buy an BMW 'M' car without a BMW warranty. Quote:

You can go through the service menu on the stalk on the steering column and pull up all the dates and milage for when service work will be required, there are no big services anymore its a case of having what it requires when required these days to stop you getting ripped off. 24 months or 15000 miles between oil changes from memory, some still have service inclusive as well. I've had mine two years now and not paid a penny on servicing yet!

These prices are not realistic and haven't actually sold. So anyone can ask any price. Getting that price is another matter.
Speaking with many traders and dealers, these cars are comfortable at around the £40k-£42k mark, with good spec, genuine and condition. Nothing else will move. Mine is sold |
