PPK cost

Does anybody have ballpark figures of what the PPK1 for a 135 is currently going for? software and install.

It's my understanding that only a BMW service dept. can install this?

If you are purchasing for tuning purposes.. DON'T. There are many better tuning options available out there.

It cost me about $1000 parts and labor at Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas, CA. But I know there are others who were able to find better deals.

This is a VERY mild upgrade, but the burbles combined with the performance exhaust are worth it in my book.

If your're looking for a greater punch, there are better options.

I got my ppk1 with a dealership discount. Installed I was looking at 750 if I remember right. Wish I had just gotten ppk2 then.

100% agreed. those dam narley burbles, pops, crackles and grunt sounds that is emitted under throttle, overrun or while decelerating are worth every licking penny.

I agree with Chun. The pops and crackles are worth more to me than the 20 horsepower That PPK provides.

I was looking to get purely for the exhaust note. I don't think $1000 is the right price for that though.

I have the PPK1 and only because I got it for $300 OTD. But I have an N54 with stock exhaust...I don't get all those crackles and pops with my ride so if you do get the PPK you should also consider the exhaust to go with it.

I'm also considering the PPK. Yea it's a lot of money for a mild power increase, but aside from the sound, the other benefit is that it is still covered under warranty.

Thats a good point. Also, the throttle response is much improved.

i have and n55 dct e82 1er and i did the ppk2 upgrade. I'm from south africa . it cost me around 3200usd when the dollar rate was 1usd/R10 .ppk1 was offered at 1500usd. all prices include labour ..

in my opinion do not do the ppk if you just want it for tune purpose ... my brother has a 335i n55 dct and he didn't do the ppk2 he just went jb4 and fbo .. for almost the same amount as i paid for my ppk2 .

i later on added fbo and trust me i can't see the benefits of having the ppk as compared to his 335i without ppk. our mod list is identical and well if anything its more a hassle when modding with ppk.

i have no valid proof but the car is way more temperamental when u run a tune in conjunction with ppk. please if anyone has also noticed this it would be nice to address this issue..
