Got my Jaffster shift knob today, it's a great piece, perfectly weighted for my BMW short shift kit.

3002 tii How hard was the install? did you get the 2ohm model or 4 ohm? I'm looking to upgrade as well but I have no clue with this H&K system.

I did 2 ohm and got a small 2 channel amp. I bought the 'Technic' wiring harness and spacers so the install was on the easier side. Dropping in the speakers was very straight forward but I had to ask my friend to do the amp install. Taking apart the trim to access the Logic 7 amp isn't tough but annoying nonetheless. Unlike the e9x, the amp is not located in the trunk. Rather it's in the rear quarter panel behind a metal cover. So you can't just install the aftermarket amp right next to it. Instead you have to extend the wiring from the trunk, run it behind the trim, and drill out am access hole in the metal cover by the Logic 7 amp. For the e9x's, you can just place the aftermarket amp right next to the Logic 7 one all within the trunk.

Where I installed my aftermarket amp in trunk

But the wiring had to be extended in order to reach the factory amp...

I'm surprised you had do drill anywhere. Where exactly did you have to?

On a semi-related note, I actually took pictures of the oem Hifi amp location with a xd600/6 in it a few days ago when I was adjusting the gain on it.
Its... snug in a 1 series vs the e9x. And we don't have a nifty little panel to pull up to gain access, instead the lining has to be removed.

(Ignore the messy wires, had to move stuff about to get access to the gain settings.)

Drilled into the metal cover for the L7 amp. The L7 amp isn't exposed in he E82 as it is on day the E9x.

Installed the OEM LED kit:

Front dome before

Front some after

Rear dome before

Rear dome after

Rear dome left vs right

Passenger footwell with stock bulb

Driver footwell with led

Couldn't replace glovebox nor vanity mirror because they use a different type of bulb

So I have 2 LED's left over. I know on the e9x you could've used those 2 bulbs to replace the ones underneath the doors but our cars don't have anything there, or at least mine didn't lol.

New DRLs. Couldnt figure out how to balance the brightness of the halos, though.

If you're referring to the fact the outer halos are dimmer than the inners, there's nothing you can do about that unless you go with aftermarket LED's.
