I'd like to see a high mileage test. What's the boost set at? Is the claimed 100hp at the rear wheels or at the crank? Is the DISA manifold and catless headers used in unison or is it a bone 128 with the supercharger attached?

I'm genuinely very interested and would love to see the aftermarket expand for the n52. Plus super charger noises are awesome.

I heard you say a lot about the engine not being suitable for turbocharging. How do you feel about this mod?

I am not an engine expert (far from it) so curious to read your opinion on this.

It's not something I would do. I don't see why someone would buy this car instead of the 135i with the intent of then installing forced inducton. There also isn't enough data out there to know if the engine/drivetrain/trans can take it.

That being said, superchargers do retain a nice NA power delivery feel, and ESS is a pretty decent company.

Well I can imagine people not having the resources to fund a 135i and thus going for the cheaper version of it. Being able to save up for mods in the future.

I sure as hell couldn't afford a 135i vert with the options I wanted..

We can't all own a shitload of cars stiggy

My comment was made in the frame of a US buyer. Over here the difference in price between the 128i and 135i is roughly the price of that kit.

Agreed. The only reason I might consider the kit over just trading for a 135 is the uniqueness of a supercharged 128. Would be smarter to go 135 because it's built for FI and has higher potential, but a blown N52 would definitely be unique.

Besides uniqueness, you're getting lower insurance rates and potentially better power delivery for less.
