$80million Powerball tonight

So:

1. Have you bought your ticket?
2. What is the FIRST thing you'd do with the cash if you were the sole jackpot winner?

Me:

1. Yes!
2. Put $50m in 10-year Government bonds, buy a house with the rest.

Hmmm....Seeing I really like where I live I'd buy the house next door and convert it into a two storey multi-carpark for all the cars I'd buy. In keeping with the street appeal it would still look like a double storey house - it'd just be full of cars.

A fulltime PA to take care of all the business things I take care off and fulltime housekeepers to look after the house and kids.

Oh, I'd probably buy our school and sack a few of the teachers.

A million each to all the rellies - so long, have a good life!

Similar... Give some to the rels. Spend a bit (new house and some toys). Keep at least 50 million to invest. I'm pretty sure I can survive on the interest on at least 50 million even after paying the tax on it.

1. Yes, via work lotto pool
2. Pay off my family's mortgages, buy an RS6, put an LSD in the 1, bank any change and come back to work as by the time I split it 15 ways with my colleagues, I'm only getting $5.3m, assuming we are the only division 1 winners.

As I sit in front of my computer back at work, I can tell you that the fact I am in front of said computer indicates I didn't win a cracker

Having an M3 in the garage to blast around in can help take the sting away though......not entirely, as $80M is a lot of sting!

First thing I'd do is buy all my family houses, go nuts on getting my dream cars (F430, Porsche Turbo, and an S-Class with driver), then kick back and watch the rest of it earn interest.

That's harsh. Well, you could look at it from the viewpoint that you're more likely to have them all come up next time.

I'd be interested to know how much BMW would charge if you wanted them to drop a twin-turbo V8 into an M3 - one off? $1m or so? It probably wouldn't meet ADR so you could have your own track built on a rather large private property - and then charge others to use it!

amk, I am sure someone like Andrew can do a conversion like this. I have seen E46 M3 engine in a E30 at his workshop...

Or buy a X5M if you don't mind the size. Someone like me actually want a big car as a family loader so would be easier to just buy a X5M.

My current lease on my wife's X5 runs out next year and I'm looking at replacing it with the V8 X5. I could do it now but I'm waiting for MY2010 when the new iDrive (with HDD etc) goes in.

I looked at the X5M but damn, it is one ugly bus!! Apart from that, I really don't think it's a good idea letting my leadfooted wife loose with 400+ kW!!
