I don't do it as much this time of year but when it's nice I always feel like driving with the top down for no reason other than enjoying it. I even want to drive top down when it's dark.

Or was that redundant?
Yes - you also also need to watch out for truck drivers on amphetamines. Lucky for us most truck drivers turn into a rest stop overnight. The main point is although there are fewer cars on the road between 2am and 6 am, you really have to be careful - it's a zoo out there.

I take my car out just for ''fun'' a few times a week. It feels a lot better that gas is pretty cheap too.

The roads have been snow covered since Dec. 20th. Yesterday they were clear and dry. Today I get to drive the 135i:roundel:. This has been the longest it has been since I have driven the it.

No joke about that. I went to school in Illinois, and clocked a lot of highway miles through Ohio and Indiana. Almost got run off the road in broad daylight once when I was passing an inattentive truck driver who apparently didn't quite understood the "slower traffic keep right" and "signal before changing lanes" concepts.

REALLY made me appreciate driving in Germany, where lane discipline is enforced.

Back on topic, I used to love taking a quick spin through the back country roads in Western Pa. when I had free time. Unfortunately, I just don't have free time like I used to...

I went nearly to Mexico and back. I told my GF there was a really good Greek restaurant down there that I wanted her to try...

...little did she know, I just wanted to rack up another 300 miles toward my break in.

Yeah, most of my mileage is just for fun driving. I travel for my job and actually rent a car most of the time so I can reserve my 1er mileage for fun rather than eating up my warranty on work travel mileage. I'm in Raleigh NC and after 7 months have yet to see any 1er on the road!

I can't seem to stop driving it! Well considering I'm still attempting to break in the car so I'm just trying to reach 1000 miles asap
