How "Red" is Coral Red???
As many can see from my threads today, I am a bit perplexed about what color to order for my new 135. I like Monaco Blue the best, and plan to order that color. But my thoughts on Coral have changed by looking at this forum. The seats in the dealership don't appear to be as "Red" as some of the photos on this site. Some of these photos look like a fireengine as opposed to a darker more sedate red. The dealership leather looked almost like a brick red, maybe a touch brighter. Thoughts?

It's not $2 whore red lipstick. It's darker than that. I'm loving my coral. I was sceptical, but once I saw it I was put at ease!!

FW Red!! FTW!!
(It was an old Car & Driver description of the crushed red velour in an Oldsmobile, FW = French Whorehouse ; -) Actually, coral leather in real life is great looking - I'm waiting for the guy that's willing to do Atalntic Blue and Coral Red - an old Italian combo. |

I realize I am in the minority here on this site but after seeing it in person I would never put that color red anywhere near the interior of my car. It made me feel like I was trapped in a Coke bottle and didn't really belong in anything trying to be considered any type of luxury vehicle. A darker maroon or Oxblood, sure, but not the Coral Red. To each his/her own I guess...

Again, to each their own.. I personally think it looks like something straight out of Pee-Wee's Playhouse, but I know someone who thinks it's the most beautiful thing in the world.

I've seen Coral Red in person. I liked it and would order it. It's far more subdued than the pictures let on. I would not put it with any of the blue paints. It's really hot with black, white or SGM.

I have to agree mostly. Black, Alpine and Grey look great with Coral. The only blue would be Monaco because its very dark. But not like the other 3 colors.

Saw it in the dealership last night and looked like a Fire Engine. Going to have to say no. Too bad they dont have a darker brick red that would work great with the Monaco Blue. Looks great with the White though

When I took my M in for service, I checked out the black/coral red 135i on the lot. I thought the red was TOO red.I dont think I could bare looking at the color day in/out. I much prefer the darker/warmer red being offered in the M5 (Indianapolis Red Merion). It is after all, personal preference!
