I had the pleasure of once again being the test driver for HP Autowerks' showcase E90 335i, this time at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. HPA had a simple goal for the day: see how fast the car would go! We still had the same tires & setup from the last test at Buttonwillow, so the car was well balanced 'right out of the box' and there was little chassis work to do. The car is a 2007 335i daily driver with 45,000 miles on it, very soft & comfy ride, full interior, etc. Tires were Michelin PSC's at the end of their life with 6 track days on them. We did mid 1:41's, but with fresh tires I am confident it will do 1:39's.

We will be at Laguna this coming Monday (Feb 15th 2010), and will post some video of our laps as well. Car is a wonderful treat to drive at this great track. Should be below the 1:40, but not down to our new 2010 GT3 level (that also will be w us at the track this coming Monday).

BR Racing has their own impressive 135i project car for the track. Should be capable of very competitive lap times. See link:
