Winter tire set up

What winter tires are you guys buying for your 135i m pack wheels?

Went on tirerack.com and only have 1 set of winter tire option which are also only run flats...

Went on couple other sites and they dont even carry the tire size combo.

Where are you guys buying your winter tire set up for non run flats?

Thanks.

I read through tons of reviews and narrowed down my choices (both are non-run flat) to the following:
1) Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4
2) Michelin X-ice 3

Initially, I was going to get the PA4's as I wanted to maintain a more sporty feel but I made a last minute decision to get the X-ice3.

In the winter, my most critical concern is traction. It's not like I'll be enjoying the car to the full potential on ANY winter tires so I figured I would suck it up and get a tire that would give me the utmost traction on the worst winter days.

It also depends on where you live and what kind of winters you have. Where I live, our winters can be very brutal and I don't ever want to be put in a position where I have to debate on whether I can drive out or not because of how much snow or ice there is outside.

I will be mounting the tires on my stock OEM style 261M wheels. Size all around will be 225/40/18.

kinda wanted 245's or 255's in the back though like my current set up. 225/40/18 is general is easy to find but not so sure about the 215 and 245 set up. Which is so hard to find...

I don't think many good winter tires offer the OEM front sizing (215/40/18) which makes it tough to obtain the same tire sizes as your summer OEM setup.

I believe a more narrow tire in the winter will help you 'cut' through snow more effectively. 225/40/18 will fit on your staggered 261M style wheels.

+1

225/40R18 all around is a good way to go on the factory wheels.

I have a set of 225/40/18 Blizzak LM 60 Runflats on four e46 M3 wheels (fronts). No tire pressure sensors, so the light stays on during the three months of winter that they are on the car.
