And i'm in CANADA in a hotel room waiting for a towing truck.

I would hope that a 2008 would still be under warranty. Then again.. I worked on an '06 5-series with over 100k on the clock.

It took 5 business days till they fixed my car.
The problem was the fuel pump and its controller.
And the new controller that they ordered did not work, so finally they took the controller from a show room car.
My vacation was a nightmare.

What controller? It's just a relay controlled by the DME. I hope the hell they didn't take the DME out of another car, since they're irreversibly paired to each car.

Wow, that sucks! Very sorry to hear that. If you had a 135, I wouldn't be surprised about the fuel pump, but on a 128 is surprising.

Two months later, and BMW did not reimbursed the money spent for the rental car and hotels during the long waiting week.
Maybe for Christmas!
