09' idrive controller on 08'..?

I have a newer idrive controller and I want to use it on my 08, I know it's possible. When I just plug it in, it doesn't work. Is there some coding that I need or anything?

Has anyone accomplished this?

dont think that would work right? since 08 are ccc and 09 are cic .. totally different interface

Controllers work. 100%. Must just need to be updated or such.

Search cic controller on ccc idrive.

When you replace the ccc controller. It has to be coded to the vehicle before use for proper function.
