I'm going to the Nurnberg market for sure. If anyone wants to meet there I'm all for it, or we can meet at the hotel. Just let me know what hotel as I have no experience in that part of Germany.

For Sunday I was thinking we could see the Regensburg Christmas Market together, and then grab a nice dinner or drinks somewhere downtown.

IF anyone wants to meet in Nurnberg, I could join you for the Nurnberg Christmas Market - one of the largest and most famous in Germany.

I did notice there is an Andechs in Nurnberg.

I would say for anyone who wants to see the Nurnberg Christmas market... get there while its still light out. ie: before 4pm.... once the sun sets... that place is PACKED with people.

They have a nice Alt Post (German mail) horse carriage that you can pay to go on. They also have a special kids only Christmas Market behind the Church where the main Christmas market is held.

My plan was to drive to Nuremberg early Sunday, check out the market and then on to the hotel. If I'm not mistaken, that Saturday is the premier weekend for The Hobbit and I promised some friends I'd see it with them.

Anyone have any tips on parking near the Nuremburg Christmas Market? I plan on getting there around noon Sunday so I'm sure it will be packed, and I've never been to Nuremburg before.

I always park at the "Hauptmarkt" Parkhaus when I go to Nurnberg. It might be hard to find a free parking spot though.

This Hauptmarkt parkhaus is the best place to park for going to the Christkindle Markt. IF you follow the signs for the Tourist Office... you will find this parkhaus. But you can really park at ANY parkhaus inside the old city walls and walk your way to the Christmas Market. Its not that big of a city.

The rooms at the Marriott(Courtyard) start at 80 euros per night. Thats a pretty decent rate. When I looked for rooms last month... most were over 120 euros at other hotels. Plus parking was tough since those hotels were downtown.
