I'll bring a bone stock 6.2 AMG to WSID tomorrow night that will keep up with a modified 135 over a 1/4 mile if you're keen for a friendly run You modify one of those AMG's and its night and day with the AMG miles ahead.

A stock one will trap in the 116-118 mph range as has been proven on this board. There is only Justin's 135 locally that traps higher.

The 135's and N54s are awesome bits of kit, but it doesn't really make sense to compare stock to modified does it?

I was under the impression stock C63's do approx mid 12second quarters? Whilst tune only do low 12's to maybe high 11's?

edit: My bad, seems stock ones can do low 12's. I stand corrected! But still, modded 135's should be able to beat them stock?

Indeed it would, but usually it's ok to agree if something is correct. Opinions are fine to disagree on.

So I think on that note, you and I should agree to disagree on this!

Wow i didn't think c63's were that quick with their weight :/.. How much are they brand new, cos it seems for the same price second hand you can get an e9x M3.. Would be a tough choice .. Both brilliant sounding and performing v8's.

All he needs to do is drop into his nearest E85 station and then press a few buttons on his steering wheel.

I suspect Edwin would be a lot faster if he had a coupe as well, probably running mid 11's.

My car feels like a slug with 2 extra passengers in the car.

Thanks Vinney. People change bonnets, trunks, exhaust etc to save 10-20kgs, I could only imagine how my car would feel weighting 130kgs less.
I know when I have 2 or 3 passengers it makes a hell of a difference.

no need to get all nasty
Even if it IS true

next is a CF bootlid, if that doesn't work i'll have to contemplate chopping an inch off the tip for another 10kg

I don't think you've got that many inches to spare!

Edwin, you have set the bar really high with what you have achieved with your mods. The power mods you make to a coupe and vert will be the same on the dyno, but on the road those mods will have a greater effect on the lighter car. eg. adding 50kw to a 1500kg car vs 50kw to a 1600kg car will vary. So for your car to run 11s already, just makes me wonder how far ahead you would be in the coupe!

My point precisely. Even a lightly modded C63 will stomp all over the N54.
