Interior Wrap Options: Cf/Alcantara with Aluminum

I decided to spice up the interior for my next mod. Which option do you prefer? Also, which color of 3m Dinoc matches closest to iCarbon cf? I am debating on wrapping my mirrors to save a few $100, but I have a real iCarbon diffuser. I figure it's worth the $30 if it has a chance of looking decent. This stuff looks pretty realistic, but it may be a tad darker than real cf.

Thanks for the opinion. If I go with alcantara I will probably leave the aluminum in so the interior isn't so dull. I think alcantara would probably be the best option for the plastic on the steering wheel and center of the radio. Cf would be a bit much there. Does anyone have a good source for alcantara? and what adhesive do you use with it?

Are you talking about wrapping the interior or exterior with the poll? IN the poll it sounds like interior, but in your first post you are talking about the exterior?????

Sorry for the vagueness. You're right, the poll (and main purpose of this thread) concerns wrapping the interior. I added the exterior wrap question to the thread because I didn't think it deserved it's own thread. Anyway, you can ignore the exterior cf wrap question because I ordered like 5 different samples of wrap and I'm just going to see if any of them would look decent on the mirrors.

Here are some threads to reference for cf wrap on glacier.

I'm not really liking the contrast between the black cf and glacier in the first link, but I think the silver cf could work with it. The majority of the voters are probably right that it would look best to wrap the aluminum also so I may try wrapping some of the plastic bits in silver cf and if it looks off I'll wrap the aluminum too. Alcantara sounds like a good subtle option but it seems harder to obtain, harder to install, and probably harder to maintain.

Ok a few things:

A. That is the CF Cloth not the 3M Di-noc
B. I have done the CF cloth (black) on my interior and it looks great..the CF cloth the vendors on here sell is the same cloth used on many other CF look items: Sunglass cases (Oakley), MacBook covers, etc, etc...very easy to DIY.

C. I have 3M Di-Noc CF vinyl custom striping on my car....not really a DIY project unless you have experience with vinyl/window tinting:

I never said if I was wrapping the interior in 3m di-noc or fabric. I only mentioned di-noc for the mirrors. I'm open to fabric or di-noc for the interior and I'll probably order a sample of both. Your car looks good btw. Where are the cf stripes?

From the edge of the headlights over the sidemarkers all the back on the mid character line on the car. Maybe you see them better here:

Right where the performance stripes go. I like those, very subtle if you're just glancing. They probably look better in person. It wouldn't be so subtle on my car though. I'm gonna throw a cf spoiler and mirrors on mine and call it done on the outside before it gets overdone.

I think it looks good on certain colors if done correctly...it is probably hardest to do on LMB...on black or grey cars it has the most subtle effect. And you are right, most people do not even realize the vinyl is there at first glance...they basically see the ENTIRE effect...and then they start seeing the details like "OHHH...that is cool!" The original idea came from these genius fellows:

I have the steering wheel trim, door handles, shifter trim, console pocket, dash trim wrapped in black alcantara.

I LOVE IT personally.

Soft to the touch and gives it that exotic sports car feel and look. I also plan on doing the headliner and a-pillars in the future. If you would like pics just shoot me a PM.

Cool stripes. They work well, even if I wouldn't have thought so by the sound of it.

Post pics if you ever wrap the headliner, that sounds sweet! I don't think I'm gonna wrap my trim in alcantara, but I'm sure it looks nice.
