There is no need to bash other manufacturers. If it's not your brand of vodka, fine, but no need to insult others. |

If you are doing it for styling Eibach pro-kit springs are made for use with stock shocks. They usually are the least drop out of all the spring choices. |

coilovers are pretty much a must as far as im concerned..think of it this way, if you buy springs with any kind of drop the stock shocks will not be able to take in the long run, i dont care what the mfr says..you'll end up buying shocks.. in the meantime ur ride will be not dialed in very well since ull have soft shocks and stiff springs.. save up or sth and get coilovers..if ur buyying this car you should be able to afford it..if ur leasing then why are u modding it at all???

If the 135 is anything like the 335 I drove then it will need stiffer springs and bigger sways.
Even with the sport package the 335 did not feel that tight. Way to much body roll and way to much hop over any bumps. |

I'm having them installed prior to the point of delivery. I'll evaluate the need for other suspension mods afterwards.

Having driven the 135i on a closed course I can tell you the only improvement I felt it could benefit from was a stiffer suspension. (Although it's fast as hell already, more power never hurts.) For most people the stock ride would be adequate, but for a driving enthusiast it's too soft and it tends to push a bit. Ride height seems a bit higher than most stock Bimmer's with the sport suspension too. For looks, a 1.2 -1.5 inch drop would be perfect IMO. I'm sure just springs would be fine for someone who's just driving on the street. As mentioned earlier a shock/spring combo or coilovers would be a must for track use.

I'm planning on heavily modding my leased 135i. And with many leases you can have option to purchase the vehicle, so if you mod the hell out of it, and you like it, keep it! And if you don't like it, return it to stock and give it back. Thats why I like leases, flexibility and less risk. Of course with a car like the 135i, you pretty much know your gonna love the thing so buy instead of lease, until the new tii comes out 2011 haha! well see... |
