Question DIY oil change: best place to get OEM change kit

All:

I've seen many mentions of getting an oil change kit from Unitedbmw for $65 for the 135i. I went to the unitedbmwonline website and didn't find the kit. Do I need to contact a specific person to get that deal?

Thanks!

I just go to my local BMW dealer and pick up their filter kit. I was at advanced auto parts the other day, and they now carry the filter/gaskets etc.. in a box, but about 1 dollar less than the dealer.

Then just get 7 quarts of either the BMW oil (Castol 5W-30), or Mobil 1 0W-40 European synthetic. Good luck!

Send Dan @United a PM or email. Tischer also sells the kits too.

Here's the link to the page at Tisher. Going to getBMWparts.com takes you here. 3rd part on the page. $65 including shipping

Good question - but I'm sure it is much higher than $65. I can do it myself much faster than driving to the dealer and waiting for it to be done, so wouldn't even consider it. My time is too valuable to be sitting in a dealers waiting room for something I can do in 30 minutes at home.

Hmm, I get the filter and oil from my local dealer's parts department for around $55 including tax, with the CCA discount. It's cheaper than my local auto parts store.
