Nope. Just went and tested it out. Both my clutch pedal and gas pedal are 100% silent, even when only pressed in a few inches (as you suggested). But my brake pedal squeaks. It's a rubber-on-rubber sort of sound. And I didn't notice it until you guys mentioned it. So thanks for that

I hate to admit it... even though I have both Nav and Tech, I haven't connected my iPhone or iPod via USB to the car even once... I haven't even used the CD player. I enjoy the sound of the PE so much, even the HK stereo is seldom on... unless I see something on Sirius that I want to listen to. Embarrassing.

+1, driving with the windows down when it's 40 deg outside has gotten me some strange looks

Lol I never turn on the radio unless I have a passenger. Some passengers would think I'm just showing off/driving like a prick just because the car is loud...one of them even complained that the car is too loud. I was not even driving hard. With that said, I haven't even activated my 1 year Sirius thing. I wish I can transfer it to my brother's car since he has things he wants to listen to from there and I have my burbles lol.

+1 here too. I've never hooked up my iPhone and I've only had the radio on less than 5 times. And that was mostly when I first got the car and was messing around with the manual and the settings, etc. I'll take the sound of the PE over the stereo any day. I don't have the upgraded HK sound system. I'm not even sure if I have a CD player! I'll have to look.

I have to admit that I have never had an iphone or owned an ipod. =( Perhaps I need to put my windows down more often though. I am constantly blasting my music via USB through the HK and taking full advantage of our free 1 year of sirius, at least the online portion. I just don't want to ruin my pretty hair though or have people on the mean streets of LA then hearing my wonderful music.

Wish you could transfer that 1 year Sirius membership to meeeeee PopsNBurbles. Mine expires May 3. =(

About 95% of the time, I drive with my sunroof tilted open and my windows cracked 3 or 4 inches. I love the sound of the PE.

Never touched my sunroof or even opened the sliding cover thing either. I clearly live a sheltered life.

you need to open that sunroof along with putting the windows down the next time you're terrorizing your parking garage for the "surround sound" effect

The only time my window is really down is when I put it down to scan my card to get in the garage at work, and I then keep it down as I wind my way down the 3 levels, sounding like a lion or jaguar roaring whenever I take my foot off the gas.

Perhaps I'll start with some slight sunroof tilt. I tried with my 2008 to get it without a sunroof, which wasn't an option, and same this go around. Wish we could delete it and get $1,000 towards other stuff.

If it's any consolation, my windows will be down as I take my car to the sherriff's office next week to get my tow hook front plate ticket taken care of, though that will be so they don't notice the tinted windows I was also ticketed for initially but due to the officer's sloppiness, didn't make it onto the final ticket when they sent it in the mail. So, windows down to complete the deception! O=)

Honestly, I would pay more to get rid of the sunroof. When I cut my hair a (relatively short), the hair at the top of my head sticks up. With my E90 without sunroof, the hair do not stick on the headliner. I cut my hair a couple of months ago. My hair is poking and sticking to the headliner! This annoys the crap out of me. I'm jelly of the M235i people...they have the option to delete sunroof!

Another thing that annoys me is...our cars are supposedly 'is' and we should be the sportiest of the non-M cars and we get a darn sunroof as standard! I know, our cars are just parts bin cars but still...

Admittedly, I used to drive slouching back with my e90 and I'm more straight body now. I'm not going back to slouching because I found my back feels better when not slouching.

Yeah I really wish we could have had the option of a sunroof delete, but since I'm stuck with it -might as well use it!

Anyone want to suggest a car that I should try to get as a loaner tomorrow morning? If a few people chime in I'll try to get the most popular choice!

I've seen that a lot on this forum. I am certainly in the minority with regards to the sunroof. I would not have bought the IS if it didn't have one.

Perhaps it's an LA thing where I really just want to sit protected in my lil cocoon in my car and enjoy being in there without all the annoyances and smog and having to hear everyone else's awful music, etc. on the streets of LA. Plus I can't have my hair ruined. =)

I think I lived somewhere prettier and quieter, I'd enjoy driving with the windows down and sunroof open. When I had my last 135 in Sedona, i definitely had the sunroof open, seat laid back, stargazing up through it and were some of my finer memories in my car.

I think you'll get an X1, but would be great to get a 2013 1-series they couldn't sell and gave up and used as a loaner. A 2 or 4 series would be an interesting comparison though if they wont' give you the alpina b7.

Now it all makes sense! Those of you who want the sunroof delete have nice, pretty hair! I shave my head. That must be why I enjoy the sunroof so much. No hair to worry about.

IF I were to get a loaner, my top priorities would be:
1. a 2er w/ 8AT (direct apples to apples with 1er and DCT)
2. a 335/435 to compare non ppk car with ppk car
3. a 128i manual because I imagine that thing would be a blast
4. 335d if you could...otherwise, I don't care

I occasionally shave my head and still keep it closed. =P It is interesting though to feel the wind go through all the tiny hair bristles.

Perhaps I need to learn to open up (windows/sunroofs) more and am willing to try if some of you try listening to your music/HKs.

I would shave my head but I know it would not look good on me.

But honestly, our cars sit high on the outside but my hair is better off sitting in a Z4. Do E88s also have reduced headroom like E82s with sunroof?
