Charging malfunction!

I was driving my 2008 135i today and out of no where I get a charging malfunction error on my idrive and my power steering cut out. I disconnected the battery for a couple hours to see if it was a fluke, but instantly threw the code again when I started the car. I plan on taking it to the dealer, but don't want to get reamed because I'm out of warranty. Has anyone else had this issue or something similar? Any help will be appreciated.

Got the car started? I'd check connections at DME.

The car has been at the dealer for 3 days and they still don't know, I'll tell them about the dme

Oh sorry, I'm reading things that aren't there. I thought you said you had just done a jb4 install.
