the back part of the seat heater stopped working,so had a go at fixing it my self.

part required is 64117140545 £60

so first the seat needs to be removed, slide seat forward & remove 2 rear torx bolts, then slide seat fully back & remove front 2 torx bolts, now remove yellow plug under seat,to remove there is a black clip on the side of yellow plug that has to be pushed out, once this plug is removed do not switch ign on or warning lamp will come on dash(can't believe how heavy the seat is) this is electric seat so others might not be so bad

next back plastic part of seat need's to be removed,at the bottom of this part is 2 push in pins, these are quite tight to wiggle free but they will come out, then slide plastic down, back part will now come off,

if you look inside at the right side on uk car, you will see two 10mm nuts, remove these & pull air bag free to hang loose.

remove headrest, push in bottom part & pull headrest straight up.
you will also need to un clip the seat flipper cover at top of seat

at back of seat you will see the leather part's clips round frame at bottom sides & top, push these forward & pull free, now push bottom part through bottom of seat

you will see the cable from heater coming out the back of foam, follow it down under seat & remove brown plug
not the best pic but you get the idea

pull cable up so it will come out the foam.

now onto front of seat, pull the the bottom of the side bolsters round & pull up bottom on back leather,it is held in with these little metal split rings

you will need some long nose pliers to remove these, there is quite a few of these they just hook round small bars in leather & foam part, once you have removed enough to pull leather up to top of seat it will expose the heater part

now pull off heater part, this is just stuck on & pull cable through foam

now stick new heater on

and feed cable back down through seat

to re fit the leather back i used cable ties instead of the little metal hooks, then just reverse re build.

this is the part that stopped it working

seat all toasty again

i think the elements in the seats are so thin that when the go they just go like a fuse, don't think they would last that long that you would smell them for some time when on,are they still heating on both parts of seat & does the 3 lights still work on dash switch,

Very informative, thank you! Were you able to pull the leather tightly back into position?
