If you're thinking Forgestar...think again...

Just gotta say, year 1 I loved these wheels, theyre light, they look great, but behind it all, they SUCK. They are SO SOFT, the powder coat is done poorly, the clear coat is about as thick as Trumps fake hair, and to date I have been through 8 wheels. 2 FULL SETS!!!!!

They bend on a small pothole, and FLATTEN on a SMALL pothole at highway speeds. Ive spent more $$ repairing/straightening these F-ing wheels than enjoying them, buy something else. ANYTHING ELSE

BBS are heavy too... 23lbs per wheel for 18x8.5... that's same weight as stock. A $300 wheel in that size shouldn't weight more than 18lbs. Paying premium pricing for heavy cast (weak) wheels lol.

Heavier than forgestars, cheaper to replace if they get f-ed up tho.

No personal experience but just as soft if not softer lotta guys run them I'd look at the wheels and tires forum thread

I'm gonna guess that running 35/30 (f/r) profile tires don't do ya any favors--how about Apex?

Apex doesn't make a 19" wheel that fits the 1.

Rears we're fine the fronts were fucked. Quality just isn't there

Thanks for posting this. Researching options for my new config, so I'll just go ahead and cross Forgestar off the list.

Going 18x9.5-10" square, aiming for ~20lbs per corner. Wonder if it can be done without resorting to Arc-8s, really don't like those.

Honestly, if forgestar has good customer service I would not have written this up. But they are so unhelpful and unapologetic, I can't help but to say negative things. Their wheels are not the worst ever, but if you're dropping $1600-$2000 on a set...you need to have a good enough customer service component for when things go wrong. And they do go wrong. Their power coating is AWFUL. They offer no refinishing services and when you "need a wheel" they have no stock...aka u need to wait 8-10 weeks before you get the wheel...what forgestar really needs to do is be professional bc rn they are no different than when they first started off, they're a "start up"

If thinking Forgestar...

I've been evaluating rim choice several months. APEX and VMR are so-last, two?-decade, seen on every modded Audi and VW, ntm BMW. Don't misunderstand-really attractive but oversold.

Considered FS-guess 'm lucky on that. Shipping next week is avant garde m621 $1.8k++ from ModB. 19x8.5 et40 only, MPS 4S. Tire first=limited choices...

Tire@21# ; Rim@21# et 40 so tire spec 225/35-19 IF rolling is not cool.

An enhanced 3-liter needs 'lightened' weight to accelerate (so does any 1 series), and lowest unsprung weight for handling compliance. Wide tires provide some features I was not interested in

The 16#-18# on offer will scarcely survive the wild. I'll follow-on how these
survive DD duties with H&R springs, KONI FSD and m3 hardware all 'round.

I'll submit combined weight comparo with the winter rig: oem 17's and Conti DWS06.

To me, it's ALL about balance on these little jewels. That unfortunately means fixing the entire car to some $degree or another.

I got a good deal on them. $2000 for the set. Yeah they're cast just like forgestars but they're a longer standing company and with all the potholes in Boston and New England, there's no point in getting a $4-$6k set of forged wheels imo

Maybe running 19's on a 1er is part of the problem.
