Bought a 135i with MHD, but PO doesn’t know log in.

Bought a 2013 bmw 135i with an MHD tune on it, from my understanding it’s a stage 2?

I have bought the adapter to tune it with my iPhone (iOS),

However, since the previous owner forgot there log in information, do I need to repurchase the tune/new log in for my email? I know it’s associated with the VIN, but would anyone have any additional options on how to avoid paying for this since the previous owner already bought it?

I would appreciate any additional information about my issue! Thank you!

mhd

The program is linked to their email address, so ask them to click on the forgot my password and tell you what it is.

Otherwise you can purchase your own license which will be linked to your vin and email address.

It's not transferable.
Just buy your own stuff. It's not expensive.

Agree with the above- this is unfortunately a more & more common issue.

The MHD license isn't transferable. Your PO didn't want to give you the password to their email address. Alas, you're stuck getting your own licenses, but that brings a ton of advantages, and is totally worth the $. Logging, the ability to go back to stock, or a variation of maps for your specific mods in the classic "stage" format.

Totally worth it even more for your 2013 where the ECU had to be sent off and unlocked! Most of us with earlier years could just flash, but 2013 needed to be pulled & sent off to be unlocked for a fee!

Those who think ahead set up a new email just for their 135, and then can pass the email & password to the new owner. Your PO didn't do that...

Yeah, you have to buy a new license. However, MHD customer service is poor, so be aware of that.
