Christmas has come a few days early for me
After a wait of nearly 5 months, I finally got to collect my AW 135i yesterday with Christmas pop streamers going off, music playing with lyrics of congratulations blairing out and a BMW gift picnic set which included a bottle of champagne and glasses, bottle opener, serviettes etc.
I'm absolutely blown away by the car, the MY09 iDrive Nav Pro and Logic 7 sound system as well, so much so, I sat for some time in the garage last light watching the movie "Troy". The resolution on the screen is fantastic. As to my dealer and sales guy, could not say enough kind words. Great to deal with, always felt welcome when I called in just to look at the cars and kept me posted on progress the whole time I was waiting. The only downside of the day was the jerk who tailgated me about 2 feet off my rear at around 60kph because he seemed to be in a hurry and I thought "holly shyte", Ive waited 5 months and this idiot is going to take out the rear of my car. He even swapped lanes when I did. Anyway, Had to share my joy. I'll have a grin from ear to ear for some time I think. |

Congrats oldman. Do you fancy a drive south in the new year to share your joy with other 1addicts? Check out this thread:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20265 I'm still running my 135 in too, so please don't think that will be a disadvantage on the day. Note that you'll have some northern company too because 2bob is joining the fun.

Sorry Duncan, I assumed you were Sydney-based. Nearly everyone who's coming on the drive is from the Sydney region! My comments about "northern company" was meant for those who're coming from north of Sydney.

Thanks for the very warm welcome guys. I'll look into the Southern Highlands drive. My parents live in Bowral and I lived down there myself for seven years prior to coming to the Central Coast.
Yes.. New iDrive plays movies perfectly but only when the handbrake is on. The movie continues to play once the handbrake is off, but audio only. Brake comes back on, the video starts again. It has a split screen mode as well, so you can say display car stats etc whilst the movie keeps playing on the other half of the screen. It also has extra buttons on the controller. |

Thanks for the info..
Just shows you how ill informed the BMW techs are, I rang my dealer after reading your post and he was quite persistant that the NEW Idrive did not play DVD's at all.... The lack of product knowledge in this industry by so called professionals at the dealerships never ceases to amaze.. |
