Dyno-d the car stock and with AA processor.

I'm pretty tired of people talking about gains that theres no proof to. So, i took it upon myself to chip and dyno the car.

The location of the Dyno facility was in Florida. So needless to say it was humid. The temperature at the lowest point was roughly 87 degrees and humidity was 50%. Runs were done on a dynojet.
The stock ECU was only given one run and put down 286whp and 297 wtq.
the processor was given two runs and its second and best run put down 324 whp and 336 wtq.

Both stock and AA runs are nearly identical in regards to curvature. In other words its not spikey or unstable as in most turbocharged cars. The car is still smooth as stock and i have no complaints. I think AA was a good choice for me as there is a great bunch of guys around here that support the product and do good work. Very lucky to have found a competent bunch of people after many years of getting the shaft.

you're kidding, right? 38whp and 39wtq difference over stock? Thats a whole lot. Good luck finding that much power to squeeze out in a naturally aspirated engine. Maybe its because I haven't been looking all too hard but I have yet to see an independent test done on a stock 135 that proves that any one of these retunes are better. Not to mention theres more than just the peak number you need to look at when you think of a car performance. A flat curve means you're getting a good amount of power all across the band and thats what the AA processor is providing. If you want a spikey, out of control tune that gets you 15 extra whp then go for it. But for me, I prefer the smooth program that came from the factory, but with a lot more punch. And thats what I got. Take it as you like. I just put it out because I'm tired of talk.

Those are awesome gains from just one mod. Nice work. I'll bet you can really feel the difference.

i will continue to monitor the cars weight and performance as parts go on using the same facility and the same dyno. BMW takes a lot of R&D to make these cars 50/50 balanced so ruining it with aftermarket parts is a little ass backwards to me. another great thing about the AA processor is the fact that theres an on/off switch. SO all this talk of how much better(or worse) bolt-ons make the car can really be found when i put them on..Just flip the switch and dyno and flip it again and it see what it does with a tune behind it....though the tune wont be specifically for the bolt ons i assume there will be more of a benefit than detriment.

I own a mac so i cant get the file from the dynojet website to open the dyno graph and post the picture. If someone wants to do that for me i'd be very grateful and will shoot you the graph posthaste. Other than that youll have to take my word for it.
Congrats, well done...

Power and torque figures post AA sound about right, whereas stock, they appear too high...maybe that's why some have commented on the 'low' gain...

Enjoy the new found performance

You should check out E90post and N54tech. There are a TON of grafts of all the different tunes with different additional mods. It's the same engine, so it sould dyno similar to the 135.

I'm with you on this one Kris. There are better value tunes out there as you would know. Smooth too.
But its good to see what an AA tune does just on its own.
Thanks W/end Warrior.

lets take a look at some of the more powerful dyno sheets...oh look: a JB3 and Procede in one graph.
notice that like my graph(now posted at the top) its on smoothing 5. And yet it still looks like michael J fox has drawn the curves. As someone much smarter than me has pointed out during an off forum conversation, smoothing takes the peak and valley of the graph and averages it out(smoothing). The higher the number (5 being the max i believe) means that theres a good amount of adjusting in the graph. But frequent bumps in the graph is evidence of knock...which last time i checked is bad. so yea, you can keep that 15whp.

that sounds like an answer someone would give...if...they...didn't...know what they were talking about. that search button icon is a cop-out and its basically saying "i dont know the answer but i'm going to bet a dollar that it's been covered already"...well...i accept paypal.

Oh.....Mister "I havent made even 10 posts yet". Got all the answers eh?
I know what Im talking about (done the searches [you obviously havent] seen many results not just from companies but individuals) and dont need to be convinced that there are better value maps out there.
I AM convinced that you are convinced that you have done the right thing; for you... and Im happy for you. And again thanks for the research results.
Now..... I would never accuse you or Frimmelnojerz being lazy and not searching to prove me wrong (or right), but if some one comes out of a cave and needs the right tools to get info then I/we should ( at least cus I'm a nice bloke) arm them with some, shouldn't we?
Whether they choose to use them is their choice.
Yep.
