I'm uploading about 10 pics in a minute I just took with my new camera that should properly show the new stance, albeit subtle if anyone can even notice. But yes, I can't say enough good things about that performance suspension set up. It really has transformed the car in every way, shape, and form as every aspect of the driving experience has been improved. Obviously, I doubt it compares to the 1M, but maybe gets me halfway? =) I'd be curious to hear your thoughts if you ever find yourself able to drive a 135is with it, though at this point you'd probably just shrug. Damn you and your sexy 1M!

nah I still dig the 135is a lot...I have no doubts that upgrading your suspension really takes it to a higher level. I don't think I'd ever shrug off a 135is....as I really enjoyed mine for the 9-10 months I had it....the reason I moved to a 1M wasn't because the 135is didn't satisfy me...but because I was quite literally obsessed with the 1M....and still am! lol

I've driven 128s before and the 228 had none of that charm. I don't like the appearance at all....it just looks soft to me.....doesn't look small and angry like the 1er. lacks the attitude.....the 2er looks like something my my mum could own/drive...an idea which pretty much defeats the purpose of a small, sporty coupe! where is the rebellion?! where is that *grunt*??

Augh. So I was parked under a tree in my buddy's driveway yesterday. When I come out of the house to leave, a rather large bundle of twigs was sitting on the ground next to my driver's side door. Turns out it was some kind of nest that fell probably 40+ feet out of this giant tree, and landed on my mirror. The paint on the mirror cap and the part that attaches to the car is pretty bad, and it might even be cracked, tough to tell. I already had an appointment at the dealer scheduled for today so we'll see what they quote me for the repair.

That sucks. Maybe it's a sign/good time to upgrade to the carbon fiber side mirrors then? If you have to buy new caps, there may not be a huge price difference then so at least you can mentally justify it in your mind as you upgraded. Might add some nice contrast/texture to the side mirrors.

Hope the damage/cost isn't that bad. Then kick your friend in the balls. The birds must die!

The thing is, its not just the caps, its the whole mirror assembly.

Like I said to somebody else on this forum, The 2 series has the new "corporate BMW" look to it. Like they created it as a company car to issue to their junior executives. BORING, BORING, BORING!

Its a 2014 335i xDrive GT.

Yep. The ugly fatback.

The good:
- It has a large amount of space for cargo.
- It has an N55, so I can't hate on that too much but...

The bad:
- It weighs over 4000 lbs.
- The 8speed auto is most sensible in comfort mode (why?!). In sport and sport+ its just absolutely stupid.
- Shifting with paddles is boring as hell (at least it has them?).
- This car is huge. I mean huge. Its wide, and long, and it feels like it should probably be wearing 5series badging (yes I know there's a 5 series GT as well).
- I still hate iDrive, but the screen is of nice quality
- There's nowhere to even PUT the damn key fob

The ugly:
- The steering is probably hands-down, the worst in any (newish) car I've ever driven, BMW or otherwise. It feels like a rubbish video game "force feedback" wheel. It's unnecessarily heavy in sport modes, and at slow speeds its ridiculously light. Making turns in a parking lot requires me to turn the wheel to full lock ffs.
- It has auto start-stop, which doesn't get disabled unless you're in sport or sport+, see my earlier comment about the transmission.
- Speaking of ugly, have you LOOKED at this thing? Front end, rear end, side profile, there is no angle on this car that looks nice.

Sounds dreadful but sadly, that's been my feeling and take on most new BMWs across the board and making me never want to get rid of our cars cause there won't be anything like them out there anymore or any time soon. Looks like they put as much thought into that rear end and exhaust as they did for the M235i, too.

well at least it does have an N55 so you can squirm that fat ass through the long bends! hahaha.

overall a good loaner though....not too bad anytime you get a loaner with a '35' at the end of the name!!!

Yeah at least it's a "35". My other option was a 328d. I'll go for that next time as I'm kind of curious as to how torquey that Diesel engine is.
