Injen is looking for a 1M to R&D it's CAI.

I inquired about Injen's CAI and whether or not the 135i version would be compatible with our cars and they replied they've yet to R&D it but they are seeking a local 1M to test fit one. So, if anyone's interested in swinging by their shop for some R&D work feel free to call Paul.

I have the injen setup on my car. The steering cup is bigger now then when i had an 08 135 so the cup they give you does not fit perfectly but its fine for me bc it does not move with my cpe chargpipe and bov in there anyway

I have an hks bov and yea ive had the injen intake since my 135i to my 1m and ive felt like its been good for whats its worth. Definitely more responsive than stock but ive also never tried the new afe sealed intake.

No intake is better than the other really when it comes to aftermarket (im not to sure about the new sealed design tho) but this one is hands down the best looking intake and good performance gains

Performance Gains???? Doubtful. I got rid of the one on my 135 because I felt performance losses when it was sucking hot air. Most others in the 135 community agree. Its all show and no go.

You never bothered to get a dyno pull?

I had emailed them about the steering pump issue but still no response. I had detailed the install photos to them but no response either. Otherwise on a dyno with less heat we see 10-13hp gain.

Yea with the 1m upgrades also in the oil cooler and the larger radiator fan its cooler then a 135i under the hood. Now if you get a sleek hood on there you can get alot of heat of the engine as well.

Nope, I did not. I compared back to back with a friends 135 and you could feel the difference. I ditched the intake and the difference went away.

There was quite a bit of argument when all these Hot Air intakes arrived on the scene for the 135 back in 2008. I do remember one dyno that showed good results, but how accurate is a dyno of a cold air intake when the hood is open? I specifically remember my 135 feeling great for the first 5 minutes after I started it then it went to crap pretty quickly as the engine bay heated up.

I had the BMS DCI on my 135 but it was the last mod after exhaust and JB3 so I felt no perceptible difference. I still think gains from the increased volume would outweigh losses from the increased heat, but I have no proof behind it.

Care to post a pic of the installed intake on your car? I want to visualize the fit before making my purchase.

Does any one have the injen on a 1m or not ? I want to know should i purchase it or get the afe sealed one , also i checked the steering cup part number and its exactly same as the one in 135i and many other bmw's
