whats the correct engine splash shield? (my dilemma)
Im having a dilemma with the plastic under panel "engine splash shield" that sits on the bottom of our cars. I have a 2008 135i and cant seem to find what the proper part is. I found two different versions of this part online, both saying they are for our cars. However, one version is called "front" and is very different from the other version called the "rear" however, the thing is that they both are for the exact same location on the car, and have the slot for the front center jacking point so there really is no such front as a front or rear.
I had option 2 originally on my car, or the so called "rear" engine splash shield. I hit a bump and broke it/cracked it so when I replaced it I ordered the version thats called the "front", which was advertised as being for the BMW 135 2008-2013, not knowing the different. however its not for my car at all, not even a single whole even lined up with the screws. so i was in a hurry and drilled my own holes. But now its hella annoying to put on and off every time I work on my car. So I'm ready to buy the right one, or the one so called the "rear" but its not for sale ANYWHERE except from original BMW for like $280.... the replacement was $29 and before people say the reason why it didn't fit was cause it was $29, I actually saw the option 2 or the "rear" engine splash shield for sale from same website for 26$ at the time of the order, which was a couple months ago, but I didn't get it cause I thought "what the hell is a rear engine splash shield? I need the front" and bought the front one. Now the rear one isn't for sale ANYWHERE, from that website anymore, or from any other places. this is the version 1 or the "front" version that doesnt fit worth a damn. http://www.carparts.com/details/Repl...Q&gclsrc=aw.ds and this is what Im seeking, but cant find anywhere. the second version / the original version / the "rear" version... https://www.google.com/search?q=135i...RgL3thAuURiwM: Anyone have any imput on this?

I've got a 2013 135is and the splash shield for mine is in fact a front and rear piece. I'm trying to get under the car tomorrow morning to install a new sway bar. I'll take pictures to show you if you haven't gotten a better answer. Considering our exhaust are slightly different, your splash shield may be slightly different as well.

I ordered this one from Amazon. Prime, so free shipping and it fit perfectly. It includes both the small front section and the large main section along with the little door for oil drain access. It's not as stiff as the OE part, but was a perfect fit and currently going for $46 so....

I had a heckuva time when I was searching for the belly pan, and was very pleased when I finally located that piece on Amazon. I too found the convertible part was widely available, but if they have good pics you can see it's different than the coupe version.
Probably worth noting that the coupe part number (OE) is 51758046494 What amazed me the most is that many places are charging around $100 just for shipping, on top of their "discounted" OE price. ECS is a great example at $172 for the part and $104 for shipping to North Florida... ouch. Yeah, $46 shipped isn't bad in comparison. When/if I need to jump over to the OE part I'll just go to the dealer so at least I won't have to pay shipping!
