Oil in Intercooler piping?!?!

I recently purchased the AMS FMIC and when put it up on a friends lift to install I noticed a little bit of oil gunked up around the piping of the OEM intercooler before I removed it. When I did remove it there was a little bit of oil coating on the inside of the pipes and one or two drips hit the floor, but not much. Is this normal or do I have anything to worry about?!

No that’s not at all unusual. N54s have a poorly thought out PCV system, oil blows through all the time. So a coating of oil on parts that carry charge air is “normal” for this motor. Not good, but normal.

if I'm running COBB V3 stage 2+ will this cause more of a build up... then again I'm assuming the oil catch can will take care of all my problems

Good boy

The OCC will catch 90% of your blow-by. It'll help with keeping oil out if the IC and with keeping the injectors cleaner for longer.

If you are running any kind of tune then IMO an OCC is a must. Most people here will agree.

i reported the issue to my tech who works on my car. said he just went in to check in on all the seals. he tightened the clamps down there too. not much you can do really.

planning on installing my OCC before I have my valve/port 'nut blasted later this month.

no one likes a leak lol
