ESCO 10498 Jack Stand On Sale

Hey All,

This isn't so much of a DIY as it is a heads up to my fellow DIY'ers. CTS has the ESCO 10498 Jack stand on sale. These stands are made specifically for BMWs/Euro vehicles. Never seen them for less than $50 a piece and $200+shipping for 4 always seemed too much so I just made do before. Well I found these on Coastal Tool Supply for $30.54 a piece. With flat rate shipping of $8.95 that came out to $131.11 for a set of four!

I was a bit skeptical because the website seemed a little fishy but I took a shot and can confirm that the website is legit and I received 4 of them 4 days later via UPS. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up as I've never seen these damn things for less than $50 a piece.

Looks like I'll be doing my Brake Fluid Flush and Manual Transmission Fluid by myself, safely in my own garage this weekend. (If I'm not 3 feet underwater from Hurricane Matthew).

Reading elsewhere I saw that maybe these were counterfeits or poorly made versions. I was about to hop on and buy all four. Still a lot of money for jack stands even if they are on sale. (And the minimum height is bad for a 1 series)

I just ordered a set of 4 today because ive had my eye on them for a while. But now after googling the company, i'm super sketched out. There are lots of bad reviews. I just hope i get 4 within a decent time frame and they are defective/crooked/etc..

Right... I was on the same ball but I held off of buying. I was also not sure about getting the 10498 because they're not low profile. My jack can't even get the car up to 13.5" to put these things under. (Which just indicates that I have to buy a different jack now...)

Im planning on using the esco jack stands in conjunction with this jack from harbor freight: http://www.harborfreight.com/2-ton-l...ump-68050.html

Also, i will first jack up one end of the car (front or back) and put 2-3 layers of 2x10 boards cut to about a foot long under each wheel. then go to the other side and lift the car high enough to clear the 13 inch starting height on the stands

Not really, placed the order and I remember receiving it in a couple days like a normal shipment and no damage to the packaging.
