carbon fiber vinyl wrapped steering wheel trim

I finally got around to having this piece wrapped and it turned out beautifully. I plan to get the rest of the interior trim done also, as soon as i can wrestle the console out and remove the ashtray trim. The other pieces - dash and door as well as shifter trim come out very easily with the excellent trim removal tools from Bav Auto. The console is another matter. I followed the very helpful DIY from Andy, but can't get the auto shift selector knob off.
Anyway, here's a photo of the steering wheel trim, done by Mark Wu - nice workmanship, Mark.

is this non-sport steering wheel? Do you mind sharing how to take it off?

There is a thread that I tried to follow explaining how to remove this piece, and although it helped up to a point, ultimately i had dealer do it. I was concerned about messing with the air bag and never could understand how to release the cover or extract the trim piece without doing so.
