I had the top down in 80+ deg weather today, driving under as many bridges as possible so I could flog it and listen to that exhaust. It never gets old!

Funny, I came up behind two very cool convertibles too. The drivers were having the times of their lives, gunning it from stoplight to stoplight, weaving between traffic, with big grins on their faces. I was right on their tail so that I could enjoy listening to the cars....but their combined exhausts made so much noise that I literally could not hear my own P.E....

The cars: A Lotus Elan and a Lotus Super 7
The drivers: Each one was driven by an older silver-haired gent with his scarf-wearing wife in the passenger seat. It was classic....and the plate on the Super 7 said "BIG YUKS".

Would have been a great picture....if I hadn't been so preoccupied with following them. And my car was absolutely huge compared to each of them; they were so narrow and sitting so low to the ground. If I could have parked next to them it would have been a great picture to counter Greg's "extreme shrinkage" photo album.

Well, IEDEI, it has been fun living vicariously through your winter adventures. You are going to have a tough time topping that next year....what with all of our increased expectations!
ha thanks! I plan to equip the car with go pro camera stuff next year! going to make a documentary!

Talk about a bad week. Few days ago lightly curbed rear right rim while parallel parking. There was a small ditch/pothole adjacent to the curb. Yesterday I scuffed the bottom of my bumper (only viewable from underneath) against a parking block. And this morning on the way to work, hit a nasty pothole in I-95 and blew one of my runflats. If this happened closer to home I'd slap on my PSS that I have waiting for me but I had no choice but to take it to the dealership because I couldn't miss a work meeting. WTF!

Augh! Terrible to hear man. I'm sure the tire wasn't cheap either.

I'll probably bite the bullet, SA said he'd call back with final damage. Hoping he'll knock off few bucks at least on the tire portion with my CCA discount. Normally I'd use this as an excuse to ditch the RFT's but they're fairly new, only 4500 miles on them so would rather eat the cost and drive them for another 15k or so. And with the miles I log, that'll basically be end of 2014. It's only annoying b/c I'm OCD by nature so I have a running list of all the "flaws" on the car.

Dan -

Sorry about your troubles! Keep us posted.

My wheel saga continues. Second time around, terrible finish/quality. Service manager agrees and promises they can do the job properly. I'm being very patient and agreeable; this dealership treats me very well. If the body shop swings and misses for strike 3, then I will push for a new wheel. To this point, I've paid 0$ for this wheel repair.

Sounds like you've gotten what you've paid for. I hope they don't get it right again so you can just get a new one. Would stink if it's just okay and you're not satisfied but they say it looks good and then you have that drama/stalemate. I'll think good 313 thoughts and can't wait for them to go on the PSS to hear your thoughts.

Yea, I think if it's borderline, they'll support me. They have a simple template to work from: there is a new M5 in the showroom with the exact same finish on the wheels as the 313s. Whatever the body shop does, if it doesn't match that, I'm not taking it. I will burn these winter tires to the cords until the middle of august if I have to! hahahah

Final damage $366 after labor and tax. It sucks being at the mercy of the dealer. Ironic thing is I purposely didn't opt for wheel and tire insurance knowing I would switch tires the second I had a reason to. Just didn't envision a scenario like this morning (basically on my way to an interview lol).

That. All winter long I remembered how badass they look. I was literally counting down the days to get the 313s back on.

Your car looks great again with the 313s. Welcome back!

Last week I took the winters off and put the 313/PSS summer setup back on. Seems that many of us are simultaneously getting reacquainted with appearance and performance of our summer shoes!

I also managed to scuff my bumper on a parking block. What a sickening feeling.

Drove down to the Jersey Shore this past weekend with the 313's back on and wow.. did I miss them. I couldn't help my self and kept driving at 3 digits.

Dan, I know how you feel. I backed into a license plate of a police cruiser and now I have two screw head dents in my rear bumper. Drives me nuts. I thought about putting a sticker over them but that is too ghetto for me. I think I am gonna respray the bumper.

Yep. I put my summers on about 2 or 3 weeks ago when I switched to the PSS setup. Couldn't...be...happier!

Ran 225 Blizzaks on 313s all winter so I didn't miss the look. Will leave them on for a bit since lows still hover near freezing. Had dealer install the winter tires w/o a scratch. I purchased tire/wheel insurance so I wouldn't have to worry about the potholes.

225s may have been a tad too wide for deep snow but it didn't snow much in the Great Plains this year--at least not as much as the Mountain West last year. I ran 205s on the 135i last winter.

interesting! so are you getting different wheels for the summer? or just swapping tires back onto the 313s?

i ran 225s on Nokian Hakkapaliitta R2s and they were pretty great.....we had a heavy winter for NYC standards this year. My first RWD car ever......i have no complaints!

Maybe we can get a 2 for 1 special lol.

I did manage to find 2-3 legit body shops, ie none of those $200 resprays from Queens or Webster Ave lol. Let me know if you're interested.

Swapping back--love the 313. Next winter will use 205s on 17 rims from the other 135 since it's not used during winter anymore.

Btw, what was the rim size for the Nokians?
