There are many who posted mainly in the long thread for warranty issue regarding fender liner replacement, almost all saying that there is no rubbing or almost not perceptible with new liners and 255/35 PSS. I've felt confident enough myself too and ordered a new set of 255/275 for my 1M (no suspension mods other than the camber plates). I only had some rubbing when I passed from PS2 to same size PSS but neglibible.
I don't think that will be a problem with new liners and if it will be like the old liners with stock 245/35 that's totally acceptable for me.

what is the difference?....I still have the original stock PS2's that came with the car that I was going to put on this summer... I had PS2's on my former M3 that worked fine...

These weren't available yet when our 1M's were developed. (all new //M models come with PSS tires now) I already drove a E92 M3 with PS2 & PSS to compare, the difference is huge. Main #? - Grip (dry & wet roads) - Comfort - Higher tread wear - Cost (PSS is actually quite a bit cheaper) - Did I already mention grip? There are already a number of posts regarding the PSS tires. Oz always has good input about these! My opinion? For street use I think it's the best tire on the market and the tire our 1M should have had from the factory. |

You have to get a 255-30-19 to match with your front tire wich is supposed to be 225-35-19.
All depend on wheel. If it's on oem, no problem! It will fit perfectly!

Also, last two posters before this one are not aware that this is 1M section, their posts are about 135i tire fitment and hence irrelevant.

Seems that bigger isn't always better!....The PSS 245 & 255 have identical tread width of 9.2", section width variance is 0.7", the weight variance is 1.2lbs.
With the rear, PSS 265 vs 275, the weight variance 2lbs, and tread width gain of only 0.7". |

But I could be wrong - could be just due to normal wear 'n tear.

I went with OE sizes (245 & 265) due to the lighter weight vs marginally wider tread width of the 275 vs 265. There seems no advantage of going to a 255 over a 245 as tread width is identical

Been running 265/35s up front and 295/30s in back for close to a year now. About to install second set in that size PSS all around. Rubs in the front a little bit at slow speeds when turning. Like parking lots only. Not an issue for me. The newer fender liners would probably fix that.

Earlier today got new Summer shoes for my BBS CH-R rims: PSS 255/35/19 + PSS 275/35/19.
Only minor rubbing at full lock to the left (maneuvering at parking speed). Stock height (excluded to drop ride height, otherwise I destroy my front bumper on a nasty sidewalk curb I regularly need to negotiate, and which managed to already scrape some paint away from the underside). Front (2.4 bar): Rear (2.5 bar): Back:

Keep it smooth while braking (try to avoid panic braking) for the first few hundred kms. That was the only minor issue while mine were breaking-in; they will already have better traction than your worn PS2s and after 500 to 1000 kms. the difference will be hillarious, more so on wet.

And to clean the rotors (dirt/rust): go for a short drive and use the brakes. No products needed - just your right foot.

It does look fantastic but wasn't done for aesthetics. The additional rotational mass is minor negative in comparison to the huge amounts of extra grip.
