UUC SSK Evo3 problems

had my bmw dealer install my SSK and have a few issues...

1. lateral play is 1/2"-3/4" in 1st, 3rd, and 5th
2. lateral play is 1/2"-5/8" in 2nd, 4th, and 6th
3. the shifter is adjusted all the way down at lowest setting but is still about 1.5" taller than stock
4. it is knotchy going into any gear
5. while cruising in 5th or 6th, i cannot shift into 1st or 2nd without shifting numerically all the way down like a truck


help?

anyone else have problems like this? how can i fix it?

Did you get the DSSR aswell? When i bought mine for my 330Ci, i bought the full kit and had no issues what so ever. Or maybe where you went wrong was getting BMW to fit it, they are not good when it comes to installing aftermarket items, their mechanics don't know much, they just read BMW manuals.

Were your shifts really that long that you had to fuck with this??
Okay that's not being helpful.

To answer your question, you can fix it by having it uninstalled and then examining the installation, or taking it to someone else to have in installed correctly if you think that it is installed incorrectly. Other than that, "knotchy" isn't a word.

i did get the DSSR, before i got the SSK...had it installed and pretty much didnt do anything....maybe even made lateral play increase a bit...im going somewhere else tmrw to get it fixed, they suck haha

its getting disassembled and reassembled tomorrow to figure it out. not by the BMW dealer, private shop

i'm well aware "knotchy" isn't a word, but i think it got the point across, no?

grinding may have been a better way to describe it, it was just a 100% incorrect install. i expected to have that quick "pop" and "snap" noise when changing gears, and instead i got crap and shit

You're right, my response was dickish. (I apologize) I like the way the car shifts stock so I would never consider changing, let alone I feel like they're never as sophisticated as what the facotry puts in. Don't you feel like you read SO many threads about people unhappy with their SSKs??

fixed it...

took out the forbidden "warranty bolt" and dropped the height 1" or so.

i wasnt watching my buddy fix it, but it now feels like i imagined it would.
