What's the point of using the entire drivetrain when you could just use the v8 and an lsd on a 1 series? Someone local to me has done it, for a lot less than 180k too lol.

Agreed, you could buy yourself a 1M, an M3 drivetrain and pay someone to do this for cheaper. But this one has an "Auto Source Group" badge on it.

For the same price I think I'd rather have an original 1M, E92 M3, E46 M3, and E36 M3.

It could fetch that much if it were an actual factory mule, but it's not. I'm pretty sure the factory-prepped VW Golf W12 and Nissan Juke-R would sell for at least $180k if they were ever sold.
