thank you for the link but I wanted to see the AW ext/taupe/AW trim combo

i am torn between the high gloss black & AW trim

AW ext/taupe is pretty much a given for me, unless I get a good deal on a metallic color

I'll see if I can locate a camera this weekend. I chose white over black b/c I wanted something different. It is different...

FWIW, If you're keeping the car for the long term you might care that the color below the trim top color is black. Door handles etc. will wear faster and an AW will show the base layer easier than the GB. My friend's 328i has this problem and he has the brushed aluminum trim.

Welcome to the forum.

Can you tell me where this fuse is, what #?

I did golf tee mod vs Fuse method on stock 128i and i didn't like the mild drone. Exhaust is the nicer solution.
128i is surely a keeper, simple fun and will not get you into too much trouble.

^^^ The fuse I'm referring to is #10, but it is on my Corvettes. The NPP bi-mode exhaust can be manually switched to the open position at all times. This is done by removing the fuse from the front passenger footwell fuse compartment...

On the BMW, I highly recommend the BMWPE. It is perfect. No drone!

You're welcome. I knew it wasn't exactly what you were looking for but the OP asked for the link for you. Get the white interior trim man it's rare and is stunning in person. Really pops.

MT or "AT"

I drive MT because that's what I grew up driving. In the 60s and 70s, ATs just plain sucked if you like to drive like my dad did.

The cars he owned that I drove with an MT:

1963 Volvo P544
1969 Volvo 142
1963 Volkswagen Beetle
1969 Volkswagen Beetle
1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible
1962 Austin Healey Sprite
1971 Chevrolet Vega
1974 Volvo 244 wagon

The cars we owned that I drove with AT:

(I'll list the 1974 Chevy Nova we had in Driver's Ed)

So it's just comfortable for me. You know what they say about old habits... LOL

I would go so far as to say it ruins the car.

Angler - a bit of advice: never make ASSumptions! My wife is "middle-aged" and drives her 128i M-Sport convertible with 6MT to go shopping, among lots of other things. Not all "middle age women" drive automatics.

I agree completely, though I do want to add a bigger sway to the stock suspension just to add a tiny bit of roll resistance. even as a DD, i'd like to toss it a bit more easily.

Faster =/= more fun.

To clarify, my reason for buying mine was for reliability as its my DD.

Understood, my wife is a middle aged woman who drives a stick in her mini s convertible as well. I was using those words tongue and cheek....to make a point.

My wife has a 128i automatic which she loves. I drive a 128i manual. We both had these cars when we got married and are debating which to keep. She says she can drive a manual but hasn't proved it yet. She doesn't see why she would want to. She has her foot in it pretty constantly and when you keep the rpm up, it isn't sluggish. Her mpg is at least 3 below mine and my car is still faster (but she won't admit it).

I bought a 128i because it has the sort of power delivery I want in a sporty car. It builds gradually and peaks out near redline. The 135i feels like an old american V8 with lots of low end but it runs out of gas near redline. I don't like that as much. I had the cash in my checking account for the 135i (or a 6 series for that matter) but it wasn't what I wanted. It doesn't surprise or challenge me that others go another way. But I got what I want. I might add headers and a 3 stage manifold to add more power but it won't change the character of the engine which is the critical item for me. I'm not sure what I'll do when the only bimmers are turbos.

Jim
