Sync only some iPhone contacts easily?

I have over 500+ contacts in my iPhone 3G (3.0) with a 2009 iDrive 135. It syncs them all by default. Anyone know of a way I can have it sync only certain contact group(s) so I can get a short list in the car?

no... but i'd be happy if mine syncs at all...

are you just using BT or cable/cradle?

I'm just using BT for now, and it just worked fine the first time. The addresses sync over also, but the NAV system doesn't seem to like using them for directions. It picks up the street OK, but not the City. No big deal though. If you want to navigate to certain addresses, I've been putting in the vehicle address book, and that's working fine.

Try hitting the small blue arrow next to the paired device in your Bluetooth settings on the iPhone. My iPhone lets me select a contacts group. I assume that this would only sync contacts in that group. I'm not sure if that is truly the case though; I've not tried it.
