Dont't get me wrong the TTS is an excellent car, as OZ inferred, the interior is A++, the car goes VERY hard and in black I think it looks awesome. The beauty with the TTS is that you can option many "nice" touches like the extended two tone nappa leather interior, including the dash pod. SHe, cause that's what my wife calls her, has only travelled ~10,400ks and is as you would expect mint.
A Ford Focus RS? Are you aware they are FWD? Should have kept the 1er!

sorry to hi jack OP, but just found this, interesting comparison, 135i/EvoX/Focus RS.

Still a Ford but at $67k drive away, alot cheaper than a 135i.

I understood your decision going from a stock 135i to a TTS, they are both good cars. The Ford Focus RS isn't in the same league if you ask me. Personally I wouldn't get it because it's FWD and it attracts the boy racer image. Also, a hatchback car wouldn't suit me and I prefer the shape of a coupe or sedan. The fact that it's 67k deters me even more. That's not exactly chump change. For the same money I'd get a used 135i, 125i or if you really need a hatch to consider the VW range. An Evo X, STI are also top choices. The Ford Focus RS isn't a bad car but as a total package I see it as being right on the money.

Better still, buy 2 XR5s for the price of 1 RS,they are about $34000 drive-away here in WA,they must be even cheaper in the eastern states, makes the RS look over-priced,you could get a tune for both if you wanted.

I had an XR5 a few years ago they are a great car, good handling,i would of thought the RS would have come in at around $50000,not nearly double the price.

Actually I just seen photos of the new Ford Focus RS and it is a really hot hatch. I would actually get it over a VW hatch for sure. The RS is way hotter IMHO. I'd still personally get an Evo X, 135i/125i over all of them, that's just me.

Deal has been sealed. Have been driving since Friday - probably why i haven't posted on here yet!

Got a list of things to do, first service, 19" CSL's, get HPFP checked and rear lights sorted, SSK, Procede tune, performance pedals and angel eyes.

Weather hasn't been great in melbourne, i'll have it cleaned on a nice day and get some photos up.

White/lemon interior which has really grown on me.

Congrats, Angus

If you've got the budget for it, don't overlook some simple suspension mods. Pop in and see Andrew@SouthernBM and he can find something to suit.
